A middleweight rematch pitting Mamed Khalidov against title holder Jorge Santiago has been set for Sengoku Raiden Championship 12 on March 7 SRC event in Tokyo, which will also feature the return to action of Maximo Blanco. Roxanne Modafferi will face Molly Hensel, joining Toby Imada and others at “King of the Cage: Toryumon”, and Shinya Aoki has been relieved of his teaching duties.

Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez recently underwent successful knee surgery, Toby Imada will rematch Jorge Masvidal on April 8 in the opening round of Bellator’s second lightweight tourney, and the promotion’s upcoming featherweight tournament is taking shape.

The remaining Bellator tournament finalists, lightweights Eddie Alvarez and Toby Imada and welterweights Hector Lombard and Jared Hess, successfully weighed in on Thursday for Bellator XII, which takes place on Friday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Upstart MMA promotion Bellator Fighting Championships will conclude its first season with events on June 12 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut and June 19 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
