Despite a report earlier Friday that UFC President Dana White would reverse the releases of middleweight Thales Leites and welterweight Tamdan McCrory, the UFC has officially cut both fighters.

Middleweight Thales Leites and welterweight Tamdan McCrory, who were both reportedly released by the UFC following losses last Saturday at UFC 101, will remain on the UFC roster, UFC President Dana White today told Yahoo Sports.

“They won’t be cut,” said White.

Welterweight Tamdan McCrory has been released by the UFC following his split decision loss to John Howard on Saturday at UFC 101, according to MixedMartialArts.com. The report speculates that McCrory will likely move up to middleweight and gain experience outside the Octagon, with the 22-year-old likely to eventually return to the UFC.

Kenny Florian, Forrest Griffin, and Tamdan McCrory were among the six UFC 101 fighters who were issued medical suspensions by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission following Saturday’s event, which took place at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.

UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn retained his title on Saturday in the main event of UFC 101, submitting Kenny Florian in the fourth-round of their championship headliner to cap off the pay-per-view event, which took place at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.

In the UFC 101 co-headliner, UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva returned to the light heavyweight division and silenced his critics, following up back-to-back lackluster wins with a first-round knckout of former 205-pound champ Forrest Griffin.

All 22 UFC 101 fighters hit the scales on Friday at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia to weigh in for their Saturday bouts, and the entire card, including headliners BJ Penn, Kenny Florian, Anderson Silva, and Forrest Griffin, successfully made weight.

The UFC lightweight champion Penn and challenger Florian both tipped the scales exactly at 155 pounds, while UFC middleweight title-holder Anderson Silva and Forrest Griffin both weighed in at 205 for their light heavyweight matchup.

The UFC today announced the majority of the fight card for UFC 101: Declaration, which is set for August 8th at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Joining BJ Penn vs. Kenny Florian and Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin on the pay-per-view main card will be Johny Hendricks vs. Amir Sadollah, Ricardo Almeida vs. Kendall Grove, and Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellgrino.

The UFC on Monday confirmed seven additional bouts for UFC 101, which takes place on August 8th at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Officially announced were Ricardo Almeida vs. Kendall Grove, Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellegrino, Amir Sadollah vs. Johny Hendricks, Tamdan McCrory vs. John Howard, Matt Riddle vs. Dan Cramer, George Sotiropoulos vs. Rob Emerson, and Jesse Lennox vs. Danillo Villefort.

Welterweights John Howard (11-4) and Tamdan McCrory (11-2) have signed bout agreements to fight at UFC 101. The event takes place on August 8th at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

All eleven fighters drug tested by the Ohio Athletic Commission following their bouts at UFC 96 on March 7th in Columbus, Ohio have tested negative.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson took home nearly half of the disclosed $762,000 payroll at UFC 96, earning $325,000 for his unanimous decision victory over Keith Jardine in the evening's headliner. Jardine received $55,000 for the losing effort.

Eleven UFC 96 competitors, including all ten of the evening's winners, were drug tested by the Ohio Athletic Commission following their bouts on Saturday at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Quinton Jackson topped Keith Jardine via unanimous decision in the UFC 96 main event and Shane Carwin, Matt Brown, Matt Hamill, and Gray Maynard also picked up main card victories.
