Stefan Struve vs. Paul Buentello Set for UFC 107 With Todd Duffee Injured

Stefan Struve has been tapped to fight a returning Paul Buentello on the main card of UFC 107 on December 12 in place of injured up-and-comer Todd Duffee, who withdrew from the fight last week due to an undisclosed injury.

UFC 107, which takes place at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee, is headlined by lightweight champ BJ Penn vs. Diego Sanchez and also features Cheick Kongo vs. Frank Mir and Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida.

Todd Duffee Off UFC 107; Struve, Russow Possible Opponents for Buentello

Heavyweight prospect Todd Duffee (6-0), who earned a UFC-record 7-second knockout of Tim Hague in August in his UFC debut, has been forced with withdraw from his UFC 107 matchup with a returning Paul Buentello due to an undisclosed injury.

Duffee confirmed the withdrawal on Tuesday with Sherdog, which also spoke to Buentello, who says Stefan Struve and Mike Russow have been proposed as potential opponents for the main card fight.

UFC 104 Fighter Salaries: Headliners Machida and Rua Top Payroll

UFC light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida and challenger Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, who headlined Saturday’s UFC 104 event in Los Angeles, topped the pay-per-view event’s disclosed $922,000 fighter payroll, according to figures released Tuesday by the California State Athletic Commission.

Machida earned an event-high $200,000 for his controversial main event win over Rua, while “Shogun” received $155,000 for his efforts. Other top earners included Joe Stevenson ($94,000), Cain Velasquez ($70,000), and Chael Sonnen ($54,000).

Barry, Hardonk, and Struve Win UFC 104 “Fight Night” Bonuses

Patrick Barry scored an extra $120,000 on Saturday, earning two $60,000 “Fight Night” bonuses for his second-round knockout of Antoni Hardonk at “UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun” at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Hardonk and Stefan Struve also picked up $60,000 bonuses for their showings at last night’s pay-per-view event.

The “Machida Era” was extended in controversial fashion on Saturday, as light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida was awarded a questionable unanimous decision win over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the main event of UFC 104 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Cain Velasquez dominated Ben Rothwell in the UFC 104 co-headliner, while Gleison Tibau, Joe Stevenson, and Anthony Johnson also earned main card wins.

UFC 104 Weigh-In Results: Machida and Shogun Set for Headliner; Johnson, Neer, and Tibau Miss Weight

All twenty-two fighters who will be in action at Saturday’s UFC 104 event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles hit the scales today to weigh in for their bouts. Light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida (202.5) and challenger Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (204.5) successfully made weight for the UFC 104 main event, as did co-headliners Cain Velasquez (238) and Ben Rothwell (265).

Anthony Johnson, Josh Neer, and Gleison Tibau were the only fighters who failed to make weight, but their fights will go on as scheduled.

Chase Gormley To Fight Stefan Struve at UFC 104

Heavyweights Chase Gormley and Stefan Struve are set to fight at UFC 104 on October 24 in Los Angeles, according to Fighters Only, which reports that bout agreements have been signed for the matchup.

Gormley had been set to fight Ben Rothwell on the UFC 104 preliminary card, but Rothwell was tapped to fight Cain Velasquez on the UFC 104 main card after Shane Carwin was pulled from the matchup to headline UFC 106 against heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar.
