Bellator today officially announced that it has signed lightweight UFC veteran Roger Huerta, who will compete in the promotion’s upcoming 155-pound tournament and debut at Bellator’s season two premiere on April 8 in Hollywood, Florida.

Bellator will make a “major announcement” tomorrow, Monday March 15, at a press conference that will stream live on Bellator.com at 3pm ET, with the upstart promotion expected to announce the signing of lightweight UFC veteran Roger Huerta, who will compete in it’s upcoming, season two 155-pound tournament.

Approximately 10% of the UFC has been sold to Sheik Tahnoon, the son of the former UAE president and founder of the Abu Dhabi Combat Club, Strikeforce is in talks with free-agent lightweight Roger Huerta and heavyweight Josh Barnett and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson received three years probation for his July 2008 hit-and-run.

Lightweight Roger Huerta, who finished out his UFC contract last Wednesday at UFC Fight Night 19 with a loss to Gray Maynard, says he’s again focused on fighting following back-to-back losses and is willing to return to the UFC.

“I can’t go out with two losses in a row. I don’t think I’m going to call it quits anytime soon. I’m still open to acting. Hopefully we get something going with that, but I’m not going to prioritize (acting) now. I’ll still prioritize fighting. If the UFC wants me back, I’d be willing to go back.”

Nate Quarry’s $60,000 payday for his main card win over Tim Credeur at UFC Fight Night 19 on Wednesday in Oklahoma City topped the event’s $476,000 payroll, according to official fighter salary figures released on Monday by the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission.

Nate Diaz and Carlos Condit were also among the card’s top earners, pocketing $48,000 apiece for their main card victories.

Following an early knockdown at the hands of Melvin Guillard in the UFC Fight Night 19 headliner, Nate Diaz took advantage of his first opportunity on the ground, forcing Guillard to tap to a guillotine choke in the second-round of the main event.

The finish capped off the Spike TV-televised card, which took place at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Tomorrow night Oklahoma City is UFC Ultimate Fight Night 19, headlined by Nate Diaz vs. Melvin Guillard. There are certainly some interesting match ups, and a few that on paper seem a bit one sided. Despite a hard weight cut, UFC Fight Night 19 headliner Nate Diaz successfully made weight at Tuesday’s official weigh-ins for the event, weighing in exactly at the 156-pound non-title lightweight limit, while his main event opponent, Melvin Guillard, tipped the scale one pound lighter at 155. The rest of the 11-bout card also successfully made weight on their first attempt.

A lightweight matchup between contenders Roger Huerta and Gray Maynard could be featured on the Spike-televised UFC Fight Night 19 card on September 16 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.

Sherdog’s Loretta Hunt reported on Thursday that the 155-pound bout is being planned for the event, which will serve as the lead-in for the debut of The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights featuring Kimbo Slice.
