The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Monday released the medical suspensions for Saturday’s UFC 103 event in Dallas, with heavyweight Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic suspended indefinitely following his co-main event loss to Junior dos Santos.
Rich Franklin, Martin Kampmann, Frank Trigg, Hermes Franca, Cole Miller, and Steve Lopez were all suspended until October 20 after suffering knockout losses on the card.

Read More »After recently meeting one-on-one with UFC President Dana White, Rich Franklin has signed a new six-fight contract with the promotion, with the deal going into effect for his UFC 103 headlining rematch against Dan Henderson.
“I’m assuming (it’s at) 205,” said Franklin on Tuesday. “The last one was at 205. I’d guess that – I haven’t spoken to anyone about it, so anything I say is only speculation. Even if he lost to me at 205, it shouldn’t affect his standing at 185 pounds. So I’d assume the UFC would do this fight at 205.”

Read More »Rich Franklin, the former UFC middleweight champ who returned to light heavyweight in 2008, informed Fanhouse over the weekend that he “expects to sign a contract by the end of the week” to continue fighting in the UFC after his current deal, which has just one fight remaining, is complete.
Franklin met one-on-one with UFC President Dana White in Las Vegas last week to negotiate an extension and it appears a new contract will be in place soon to keep Franklin in the UFC for the indefinite future and possibly for the remainder of his career.
