Veteran light heavyweight Vladimir Matyushenko, who has fought in the UFC, Affliction, and the IFL, topped former UFC fighter Jason Lambert via unanimous decision on Saturday in Ontario, California in the main event of Call to Arms I.

Matyushenko, who had won eight-straight bouts since leaving the UFC before suffering a second-round TKO to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in January at Affliction: Day of Reckoning, improved to 22-4 in the victory. Lambert falls to 23-10 with the loss, having been defeated in four-straight bouts.

Also on the card, UFC and WEC veteran Tiki Ghosn (11-7) fought for the first time in over a year, scoring a unanimous decision victory over Brian Warren and former professional wrestler and Strikeforce veteran Daniel Puder (7-0) remained undefeated with a first-round TKO of Jeff Ford.

Five Ounces of Pain reported the postponement on Friday, adding that EliteXC officials are likely looking to re-schedule the event.

The rumored fight card included EliteXC newcomer Cyrille Diabate taking on Jaime Fletcher, a King of the Cage middleweight championship bout pitting champion Keith Berry against challenger Reggie Orr, and the EliteXC debut of Hector Lombard.

• Antonio Rogerio Nogueria will fight Vernon White at Affliction’s debut event, “Banned”, on July 19th.
• ESPN The Magazine featuring Kimbo Slice on the cover is on newstands now.
• EliteXC President Gary Shaw revealed this week that the promotion is likely going to introduce a heavyweight title in 2008.
• MMA veteran Matt Lindland won the Republican primary for the Oregon House of Representatives by a 14-point margin and will not take on Democratic nominee Suzanne VanOrman in the November 4th general election.
• EliteXC will stage a ShoXC event in San Diego, California on June 27th. Hector Lombard will make his debut with the promotion at the event, Cyrille Diabate will face Jamie Fletcher in a main card bout, and King of the Cage middleweight champion Keith Berry will look to defend his title against Reggie Orr.
• UFC 88 will take place on September 6th at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

In walks UFC President Dana White who assembles the fighters and introduces this season’s coaches: Forrest Griffin and Quinton Jackson. White next informs the fighters that he is sick of people taking the opportunity to be on the show for granted and that everyone will be fighting in 48-hours for their spot in The Ultimate Fighter house. The matchups have already been determined and Jackson and Griffin will observe the bouts before teams are decided following all 16 opening round fights.

The weigh-ins take place the following day and go off without a hitch as all 32 fighters make weight for their fights the following day. Eight opening round bouts air on the debut episode with eight more scheduled for episode two, including a knockout that is being called one of the most brutal in the history of the show.
