On Wednesday, the UFC made three more bouts for the UFC 106 official. The promotion officially announced Phil Baroni vs. Amir Sadollah, Marcus Davis vs. Ben Saunders and Jason Dent vs. George Sotiropoulos for the preliminary card of the November 21 event to take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Headlining UFC 106 will be a heavyweight title bout between two behemoths, champion Brock Lesnar, and challenger Shane Carwin. Also featured on the card is the return of Tito Ortiz who will be facing off against Mark Coleman.

Welterweight veteran Phil Baroni will make his return to the Octagon on November 21 at UFC 106 in Las Vegas against The Ultimate Fighter 7 winner Amir Sadollah, according to a report from Inside Fights citing sources close to both camps.

UFC 106, which airs live on pay-per-view from the Mandalay Bay Events Center, is headlined by a matchup between heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and challenger Shane Carwin, and is also rumored to include Tito Ortiz vs. Mark Coleman and Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida.

Strikeforce announced on Thursday that it has released welterweight veteran Phil Baroni following a unanimous decision loss to Joe Riggs in his most-recent bout in June.

Despite losing his last fight, the “New York Bad Ass” is apparently heading back to the UFC after winning three-straight bouts in 2008 after dropping from middleweight to 170-pounds, as Sherdog reports that a deal is in the works between Baroni and the UFC.

Jake Shields needed less than half a round to submit Robbie Lawler in the main event of Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields on Saturday, forcing Lawler to tap to a guillotine choke 2:02 into the opening round of their catchweight headliner. In other main card action, Brett Rogers knocked out Andrei Arlovski in just 22-seconds and Nick Diaz submitted Scott Smith.

The Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields preliminary card is scheduled to begin at 7:45pm ET with the main card, featuring Lawler-Shields and Arlovski-Rogers, commencing at 10pm ET. Live results are available after the jump...

All twenty-two fighters scheduled to fight at Saturday's Strikeforce event, including headliners Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith as well as main card fighters Andrei Arlovski, Brett Rogers, Nick Diaz, Scott Smith, Phil Baroni, Joe Riggs, Kevin Randleman, and Mike Whitehead, successfully made weight at Friday's weigh-ins.

Welterweights Joe Riggs and Phil Baroni are likely to meet on Strikeforce's rumored June 6th event in St. Louis. Both fighters have reportedly been offered the matchup but neither has officially signed on for the bout.

California-based MMA promotion Strikeforce has announced that they will head to Denver, Colorado on October 3rd for Strikeforce “Payback”.
