Ten fights are now official for UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun on October 24 in Los Angeles, as the UFC on Tuesday added eight additional bouts to the event’s official lineup, joining the previously announced main event between light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua as well as a confirmed heavyweight matchup between Ben Rothwell and Cain Velasquez.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has issued medical suspensions to nine fighters who fought at UFC 98 on May 23 in Las Vegas. Main event loser Rashad Evans, who suffered a second-round knockout to Lyoto Machida, is suspended until July 23rd for precautionary reasons.

Headliners Rashad Evans and Lyoto Machida and co-main event fighters Matt Hughes and Matt Serra were the top earners at UFC 98 on Saturday in Las Vegas. Evans, the former UFC light heavyweight champion who was defeated via second-round knockout by Machida, earned $200,000 for the bout. Machida received $140,000 for his main event victory.

Lyoto Machida became the new UFC light heavyweight champion on Saturday in Las Vegas, taking out title-holder Rashad Evans with a flurry of punches in the second round of their UFC 98 headliner to capture the 205-pound belt. Matt Hughes, Drew McFedries, Chael Sonnen, and Frankie Edgar also picked up main card victories.

The UFC has officially confirmed additional bouts for UFC 92 “The Ultimate 2008″, which takes place on December 27th in Las Vegas and features Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir, and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva.
