Former WEC and UFC middleweight fighter Nissen Osterneck picked up a quick submission victory over Robert Thompson in the main event of Carolina Fight Promotions: Bash at the Bach Saturday night at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. According to CFP general manager Doug Muhle, the event was a sell out with 3,200 tickets sold and they turned away another 1,000 people the night of the event.

This Saturday, MMAFrenzy will be on site to cover Carolina Fight Promotion’s next event, a Pro/Am card in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina which will be headlined by former WEC/UFC fighter Nissen Osterneck in a middleweight match up against Robert Thompson.

Dave Herman needed just 60-seconds to stop Don Frye on Saturday in the main event of Shark Fights 6, forcing a referee stoppage at the one-minute mark of the headliner. Gerald Harris, a cast member on the Ultimate Fighter 7, knocked out former WEC and UFC fighter Nissen Osterneck in the co-main event to with the promotion’s middleweight title.

Former WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit was defeated in his anticipated UFC debut, dropping a split decision to Martin Kampmann in the UFN 18 main event.

Twenty-two of the twenty-four fighters scheduled to be in action at UFC Fight Night 18 successfully weighed in for their bouts on Tuesday at the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
