Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic and Ben Rothwell could square off at UFC 110, according to a post on The Underground, with both heavyweights looking to rebound from recent losses at the February 20 card in Sydney, Australia.

UFC 110, which has yet to be officially announced, is expected to be co-headlined by Wanderlei Silva’s middleweight debut against Yoshihiro Akiyama.

UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva will undergo elbow surgery after all to remove bone spurs and will be sidelined briefly, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic is not retiring following his latest loss and intends to fight at least once more, at a November 7 Strikforce event headlined by Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers will take place at the Sears Centre near Chicago.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Monday released the medical suspensions for Saturday’s UFC 103 event in Dallas, with heavyweight Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic suspended indefinitely following his co-main event loss to Junior dos Santos.

Rich Franklin, Martin Kampmann, Frank Trigg, Hermes Franca, Cole Miller, and Steve Lopez were all suspended until October 20 after suffering knockout losses on the card.

Saturday night at UFC 103, the MMA legend Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic took to the Octagon again, in hopes of proving that he was still the fighter we saw in Pride, and that he could perform in the UFC. His opponent, Junior dos Santos, beat the once feared striker to the punch throughout the fight, before the bout was called off two minutes into the third round. Following the loss, Filipovic spoke to the Croatian website Jutarnji.hr about the fight, and his possible retirement.

Fighters weighed-in today at the Dallas Convention Center Arena for UFC 103 which will take place Saturday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Pay-per-view headliner Rich Franklin made weight for the 195 catch weight bout weighing in at 195 pounds on the nose. Co-headliner Vitor Belfort missed weight by a quarter of pound and has two hours to lose the additional weight.

First reported by Dana White at Friday's UFC 101 Q&A session, and officially announced Monday by Spike TV, The Best of Pride Fighting Championships series starts January 11, 2010 at 11pm on Spike. The show will be a weekly one hour series following a similar format to that of the UFC Unleashed, and will be hosted by former Maxim Magazine "Hometown Hotties" finalist Kenda Perez.

Heavyweight veteran Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic has signed a three-fight contract with the UFC, ending weeks of speculation about whether the popular Croatian fighter would return to the UFC or ink a deal with Japan-based DREAM.

UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta announced the signing on Saturday during a Q&A with fans at the UFC Fan Expo in Las Vegas before UFC 100.

As speculated earlier Wednesday, heavyweight up-and-comer Junior dos Santos has told GracieMag that he’s likely to fight veteran Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic at UFC 103 on September 19 in Dallas.

“I think I’ll fight September 19. They took me off the August 29 show,” said dos Santos. “My opponent’s changed. I’ll probably face Cro Cop. If I beat him I’ll be in really good standing. If that’s truly the case, I’m guaranteed on the main card and in the main event of the evening.”

Heavyweight prospect Junior dos Santos has been pulled from his UFC 102 matchup against Justin McCully for undisclosed reasons.

McCully announced on MMAjunkie Radio on Wednesday that he’ll instead fight newcomer Mike Russow at the August 29 event in Portland, Oregon. Another UFC newcomer, Todd Duffee, who had been slated to fight Russow at the pay-per-view event, will instead take on Tim Hague.

According to index.hr, UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta recently traveled to Croatia to personally offer heavyweight Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic a contract the report says “can’t be refused”.

“We understand that Cro Cop has been offered an incredible deal that should see him fight with the UFC once again . Although Filipovic was unavailable for comment, its clear that this is a major development in the ongoing negotiations. We will almost certainly, see CroCop in the world’s strongest organization once again despite the Cro Cop close ties with Dream.”

After snubbing the UFC and bolting for DREAM following his UFC 99 win on Saturday, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic will attempt to keep his promise of fighting three more times before the end of the year, agreeing to fight Siala “Mighty Mo” Siliga at DREAM 10 on July 20 in Saitama, Japan, according to SI.com.

Heavyweight Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic has likely fought for the last time in the UFC Octagon. Despite defeating Mostapha Al-Turk on Saturday at UFC 99 to fulfill a unique one-fight deal with the promotion, Cro Cop informed UFC President Dana White following the first-round TKO that he had signed a three-fight deal with Japan-based DREAM.

All 24 UFC 99 fighters, including headliners Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin, successfully made weight on Friday at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany for their bouts, which take place at the venue on Saturday and air live on pay-per-view.
