Mizuto Hirota upset lightweight champ Satoru Kitaoka via fourth-round TKO to become the promotion’s new title-holder at Sengoku 9 on Sunday in Saitama, Japan.

The Sengoku Featherweight Grand Prix also came to an underwhelming conclusion at the card, with Masanori Kanehara being crowned the first-ever Sengoku featherweight champ with a split decision victory over Michihiro Omigawa in the tournament final.

Sengoku will be holding the semi-final, and final rounds of its Featherweight tournament on August 2nd in Japan, at an as yet unannounced venue. One of the match-ups will be Marlon Sandro facing off against two fight UFC competitor Michihiro Omigawa,

All twenty fighters slated to participate in bouts at Sengoku Seventh Battle made weight earlier today in Japan. The event takes place overnight (HDNet - 3am ET/midnight PT) at the National Yoyogi Stadium in Tokyo, Japan.
