On the eighth episode of The Ultimate Fighter 10, Team Rampage’s Marcus Jones looked to advance to the quarterfinals and prevent Team Rashad from going undefeated as he took on Mike Wessel in the tournament’s final opening round fight. Also on the episode, the matchups were determined for the next round of fights.

On the second episode of The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights, coach Quinton “Rampage” Jackson retains fight selection for the second-straight bout despite dropping the season’s opening matchup and chooses Team Rashad’s top-pick James McSweeny to take on former NFLer Wes Shivers.

The episode closes with Rashad Evans choosing Team Rampage’s Kimbo Slice to fight former IFL champ Roy Nelson in the next opening round bout.

The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights debuted on Wednesday following UFC Fight Night 19, and the 16 fighter cast that includes street fighter Kimbo Slice, former IFL champ Roy Nelson, and four ex-NFLers was introduced to light heavyweight rivals and opposing coaches Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans.

Spike TV announced on Friday the complete cast for The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights, which concluded taping this week for a September 16 debut following UFC Fight Night 19. Light heavyweight contenders Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans will appear as coaches on the show before squaring off at UFC 107 in mid-December in Jackson’s hometown of Memphis, Tennesse.

After learning yesterday of the first cast member on The Ultimate Fighter 10, backyard brawler-turned-mixed martial artist Kimbo Slice, MMAjunkie has confirmed that four NFL veterans have been cast for the heavyweights-only season. Added to the cast were Marcus Jones, Matt Mitrione, Brendan Schaub and Wes Shivers.

250 fighters tried out for The Ultimate Fighter 10 on Monday in Seattle in hopes of landing one of the slots on the upcoming season of the UFC reality series, which will begin taping this summer for a fall debut.
