Thiago Silva and Lyoto Machida (13-0), who were originally scheduled to meet at UFC 89 in October, will instead fight at UFC 93 on January 31st in Las Vegas.
Silva was forced to withdraw from the October matchup earlier this month after suffering a back injury while training for the fight. After a search for a new opponent turned up empty Machida was removed from the card and the pair will now clash at UFC 93 in a marquee heavyweight bout.
UFC 93 will be headlined by UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre against UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn.
