<p>Overeem submitted James Thompson with a guillotine choke in under a minute in the DREAM 12 main event, while Alvarez used an arm-triangle choke to defeat Katsunori Kikuno in the second-round of their featured matchup.</p>
<p>Also at DREAM 12, welterweight champ Marius Zaromskis picked up a first-round headkick knockout of Myeon Ho Bae in non-title action, Kazushi Sakuraba submitted Zelg Galesic with a kneebar in the opening frame, and Yoshiro Maeda choked out Chase Beebe in the first.</p>

The officials over at FEG and DREAM officially made an expected announcement today that they will be holding their annual New Years Eve show again this year, at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.  K-1 executive Sadaharu Tanikawa said that the event would follow last year&#8217;s hybrid format, including both K-1 bouts and Dream MMA bouts, to fill out an eighteen fight card.</p>
<p>One of the expected K-1 bouts is a farewell fight for two-time champion Masato, in a third contest with Andy Souwer, an opponent he has never defeated.</p>
<p>Among the expected MMA contests rumored for the event are a Dream lightweight title bout between recently crowned champion Shinya Aoki, and the also popular Tatsuya Kawajiri, and the championship bout of the &#8220;Super Hulk Tournament&#8221; between Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Ikuhisa Minowa.</p>
<p>Other rumored participants at the New Years Eve event are Jerome Le Banner, Alistair Overeem, Kazushi Sakuraba, Hayato &#8220;Mach&#8221; Sakurai, Tim Sylvia, Kiyoshi Tamura, Norifumi &#8220;Kid&#8221; Yamamoto, and Badr Hari.</p>

<p>DREAM 11, which takes place at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan, features the finale of the promotion&#8217;s featherweight tournament as well as a lightweight championship bout between title-holder Joachim Hansen and Shinya Aoki.</p>
<p>Sakuraba (24-12-1) earned the nickname &#8220;Gracie Hunter&#8221; for his numerous wins over members of the Gracie family, including Royce and Renzo Gracie, and also hols notable victories over Vitor Belfort, Quinton Jackson, Guy Mezger, Kevin Randleman, and Ken Shamrock. &#8220;The IQ Wrestler&#8221; followed up three-straight wins with back-to-back losses to Melvin Manhoef and Kiyoshi Tamura in 2008.</p>
<p>Williams (0-0), a cast member on season 3 of The Contender, is 29-8-1 since making his boxing debut in 2001, with notable fights including a loss to IBF super middleweight champ Jeff Lacy in 2005 and a draw in 2007 with contender Antwun Echols, but is 0-6 since 2008. &#8220;Mr. Hollywood&#8221; said at a Sunday press conference in Japan that he&#8217;s been training MMA for over a year and is ready to display what he&#8217;s learned in the Tuesday matchup.</p>

<li>Tito Ortiz caused quite the commotion at the post-UFC 84 press conference. After reportedly being banned from the event, Ortiz showed up anyways and began fielding questions from reporters before the press event had begun. UFC officials reportedly attempted to stop Ortiz from answering question but ultimately allowed him to field questions briefly before the official press conference go underway. Ortiz was allowed to stay for the event, though four Las Vegas police officers were brought in should things get out of hand.</li>

<li>Adrenaline MMA has inked a deal with HDNet to air the promotion&#8217;s first three events on the network.</li>
<li>Jeremy Lang has replaced Eric Schambari against Tim McKenzie and Danny Castillo has replaced Richard Crunkilton against Donald Cerrone on the WEC 34 fight card, which is takes place on June 1st.</li>
<li>Ryan Ford will take on UFC veteran Drew Fickett at MFC 17 for the promotion&#8217;s vacant welterweight championship.</li>
<li>DREAM has announced the official pairings for the second round of the promtion&#8217;s middleweight tournament. The matchups are Kazushi Sakuraba versus Melvin Manhoef, Jason â€œMayhemâ€ Miller versus Ronaldo â€œJacareâ€ Souza, Gegard Mousasi versus Dong Sik Yoon, and Zelg Galesic versus Taiei Kin.</li>
