Paul Daley and Karo Parisyan Sign With Impact FC for July Bouts in Australia (updated)

Just days after being released by the UFC for his post-fight sucker punch of Josh Koscheck at Saturday’s UFC 113, former welterweight contender Paul Daley is set to return to action at a July 3 Impact Fighting Championships event in Australia against an opponent to-be-determined.

Karo Parisyan has also signed with the upstart Australian promotion after failing to reach a deal with Strikeforce, and will debut on July 10 vs. Luis Dutra Jr., MMAjunkie reports.

Karo Parisyan Unable to Reach Deal With Strikeforce

Former UFC welterweight contender Karo Parisyan won’t resume his MMA career in Strikeforce, as negotiations between the two sides, which were first reported earlier this month, failed to produce a deal.

Parisyan (18-5) went 8-1 following a 2004 loss to Georges St-Pierre, losing only to Diego Sanchez while earning wins over the likes of Nick Diaz and Matt Serra, but has been plagued with issues following a 2008 loss to Thiago Alves.

Karo Parisyan in Talks With Strikeforce, Could Debut at June 16 Event

Former UFC welterweight Karo Parisyan is in talks with Strikeforce and could debut as early as the promotion’s June 16 event in Los Angeles should he reach a deal.

Following a loss to Thiago Alves in 2008, “The Heat” has been plagued with issues, testing positive for banned painkillers following a split decision win over Dong Hyun Kim last January before withdrawing from a November matchup with Dustin Hazelett the day before the fight.

Karo Parisyan Withdraws From UFC 106 Bout With Dustin Hazelett, Will Not Fight Again in the UFC

Karo Parisyan has withdrawn from his UFC 106 welterweight matchup with Dustin Hazelett just two days before Saturday’s pay-per-view event in Las Vegas and will “not be fighting again in the UFC,” UFC President Dana White announced today on Twitter.

“Karo Parisyan has f***** over the UFC, the fans and his opponent again. He will not be fighting Saturday or ever again in the UFC,” wrote White. “Pulled out of the fight the day before weigh-ins again with a laundry list of excuses. Let the press ask Karo why. Let him explain.”
