Former UFC lightweight Junie Browning today apologized for his alleged assault of three nurses at a Las Vegas hospital last week that resulted in him being released by the UFC. Despite his hospitalization and arrest, Browning has signed to fight Scott Cornwell at MMA Big Show: Onslaught in Indiana on November 28.

The UFC has released lightweight Junie Browning after the controversial Ultimate Fighter 8 contestant was arrested on Tuesday in Las Vegas,according to Yahoo Sports. Browning was arrested for allegedly assaulting three nurses at a local hospital, where he was being treated for an overdose “in an attempt to harm himself”.

Former WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit was defeated in his anticipated UFC debut, dropping a split decision to Martin Kampmann in the UFN 18 main event.

Twenty-two of the twenty-four fighters scheduled to be in action at UFC Fight Night 18 successfully weighed in for their bouts on Tuesday at the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
