George Sotiropoulos, Joe Stevenson, Cain Velasquez, and Chris Lytle each earned $50,000 fight-night bonuses for their showings on Saturday at “UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez”. Sotiropoulos and Stevenson took home “Fight of the Night” honors, Velasquez scored “Knockout of the Night,” and Lytle earned “Submission of the Night.”

UFC 110 Results: Velasquez Destroys Nogueira, Silva Edges Bisping

Heavyweight contender Cain Velasquez passed the toughest test of his young career with ease on Saturday in the main event of UFC 110, remaing undefeated with a first-round knockout of former UFC and PRIDE champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.

In the co-main event, Wanderlei Silva nearly finished Michael Bisping in his middleweight debut, but instead settled for a narrow unanimous decision over The Ultimate Fighter 3 winner.

A lightweight matchup between veteran Joe Stevenson and Australian George Sotiropoulos is in the works for UFC 110 on February 21 in Sydney, Australia, according to MMA Mania.

Stevenson (31-10) is coming off back-to-back wins over Nate Diaz and Spencer Fisher, while Sotiropoulos (11-2) has won four-straight inside the Octagon, most-recently submitting Jason Dent at UFC 106.

UFC 104 Fighter Salaries: Headliners Machida and Rua Top Payroll

UFC light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida and challenger Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, who headlined Saturday’s UFC 104 event in Los Angeles, topped the pay-per-view event’s disclosed $922,000 fighter payroll, according to figures released Tuesday by the California State Athletic Commission.

Machida earned an event-high $200,000 for his controversial main event win over Rua, while “Shogun” received $155,000 for his efforts. Other top earners included Joe Stevenson ($94,000), Cain Velasquez ($70,000), and Chael Sonnen ($54,000).

All twenty-two fighters who will be in action at Saturday’s UFC 104 event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles hit the scales today to weigh in for their bouts. Light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida (202.5) and challenger Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (204.5) successfully made weight for the UFC 104 main event, as did co-headliners Cain Velasquez (238) and Ben Rothwell (265).

Anthony Johnson, Josh Neer, and Gleison Tibau were the only fighters who failed to make weight, but their fights will go on as scheduled.

Joe Stevenson vs. Spencer Fisher Being Finalized For UFC 104 in October

A lightweight bout between Joe Stevenson and Spencer Fisher is in the process of being finalized for UFC 104 on October 24 in Los Angeles, according to MMAjunkie.

Stevenson (30-10) is coming off a “Fight of the Night” unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz in June, while Fisher has won three-straight, most-recently defeating Caol Uno in June.

Four grappling superfights will be featured at the UFC Fan Expo on July 10 and 11 as Rumina Sato, Fredson Paixao, Joe Stevenson, Vinicius Magalhaes, Jeff Glover, Ulysses Gomez, and Bill Cooper are all set to be in action.

The UFC has also announced that is will be officially revealing the cast for The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights at the Fan Expo on Friday July 10.

TUF 9 Finale Fighters Test Clean for Steroids and Drugs

All twelve fighters who were selected by the Nevada State Athletic Commission to be tested for steroids and drugs of abuse at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale on June 20 have tested negative.

According to NSAC executive director Keith Kizer, fighters Diego Sanchez, Clay Guida, DaMarques Johnson, James Wilks, Ross Pearson, Andre Winner, Chris Lytle, Joe Stevenson, Brad Blackburn, Nick Osipczak, Melvin Guillard, and Tomasz Drwal tested negative at the Spike-televised event, which took place at The Pearl in Las Vegas.
