Lightweight Joe Lauzon is expected to return to the Octagon against Sam Stout at UFC 108 on January 2 in Las Vegas, according to MMA Mania.

Lauzon is coming off back-to-back wins over Kyle Bradley and Jeremy Stephens, but has been sidelined since February after undergoing knee surgery, while Stout picked up a win over Matt Wiman in April to snap a two-fight losing streak.

More than five weeks after knee surgery, UFC lightweight prospect Joe Lauzon is rehabilitating his leg, and recovery is ahead of schedule. “J-Lau” goes for a follow-up exam next Thursday, which will change his rehabilitation process, but he can’t fight until the grafting is fully healed, which probably won’t be until the spring of 2010.
