Six of the eighteen fighters who participated in bouts at UFC 81 “Breaking Point” have received medical suspensions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, according to documents MMAFrenzy.com has received directly from the NSAC. Among the suspended fighters were headliners Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

The UFC tentatively has events scheduled for February 2nd in Las Vegas and March 1st in Columbus, Ohio.

Earlier today rumors surfaced that former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir may square off with Fabricio Werdum at UFC 79 in December. A source close to one of the fighters informed MMAFrenzy.com this afternoon that there is “no truth” to the rumors.

According to rumors Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will step back into the octagon on December 29th to take on Cheick Kongo at UFC 79.
Kongo was believed to be fighting former UFC champion Frank Mir later this year (at least if Mir got his way) but Mir’s next opponent is now up in the air.

Frank Mir will likely face Cheick Kongo at a UFC event later this year according to a source close to one of the fighters. No specific date has been determined though UFC 78 in November and UFC 79 in December remain very open cards.
