As many of you know the UFC has a tendency to trim fighters that don’t do well early in their UFC career from their roster. That trend has continued this week as the UFC has cut three more fighters, Mike Ciesnolevicz, Tim Boetsch, and Frank Lester.

Main card losers Clay Guida and Kevin Burns were among the eight fighters issued medical suspensions by the Nevada State Athletic Commission stemming from Saturday’s event, which was held at The Pearl in Las Vegas.

Guida, who suffered a unanimous decision loss to Diego Sanchez in the evening’s main event, is suspended until August 15 for precautionary reasons. Burns must have his right hand cleared by a doctor or serve a suspension until December 18. He too faces a minimum suspension until August 15 after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Chris Lytle on the Spike-televised card.

Diego Sanchez and Joe Stevenson, who both recorded victories on Saturday at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale, topped the list of official salaries for the event, which were released today by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Sanchez earned $90,000 for his main event win over Clay Guida ($23,000), while Stevenson received $70,000 by topping Nate Diaz ($20,000) in the first bout of the Spike-televised main card.

Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida delivered on their Fight of the Year hype, engaging in a three-round war in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale on Saturday that saw Sanchez edge Guida by split decision on the judge’s scorcards.

The rest of the card failed to disappoint either as Chris Lytle and Kevin Burns traded blows in a bout that deserved Fight of the Night before being upstaged by Sanchez and Guida, Joe Stevenson looked impressive in topping Nate Diaz by unanimous decision in a technical battle, and welterweight James Wilks and lightweight Ross Perason were crowned The Ultimate Fighter 9 champions with victories on the Spike-televised main card.

Lightweight headliners Clay Guida (155) and Diego Sanchez (156) successfully made weight on Friday at the weigh-ins for The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale, as did TUF 9 welterweight finalists DaMarques Johnson (170) and James Wilks (171) and lightweight finalists Ross Pearson (156).

The event takes place on Saturday at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas, the same venue which hosted today’s weigh-ins, and airs live on Spike TV beginning at 9pm ET.

A welterweight preliminary bout between Frank Lester of Team US and Nick Osipczak of Team UK completes the fight card for Saturday’s The Ulimate Fighter 9 Finale at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas.

Spike TV, which will televise the event’s main card, confirmed the bout, along with the previously reported matchup between Team US lightweights Jason Dent and Camerson Dollar, on Thursday.

On the final episode of The Ultimate Fighter 9, Team UK welterweight James Wilks defeated Frank Lester via third-round TKO to advance to the 170-pound finals on Saturday in Las Vegas, where he'll take on Demarques Johnson, the lone finals representative for Team US.

Spoilers included: Frank Lester is tapped to replace Jason Pierce and take on Team UK's David Faulker in the final opening round bout. After fighting to a draw over the first two round, a gassed Faulkner called it quits.

Spoilers Included: Team US lightweight Cameron Dollar evens up the teams at 2-2 in the opening bout of the episode, submitting Martin Stapleton with a rear naked choke early in the opening round to advance in the 155-pound tournament. In the episode's welterweight quarterfinal, Team UK's James Wilks eliminated Frank Lester with an armbar submission in the second round to put Team UK back on top 3-2.
