Strikeforce’s December 19th is beginning to shape up, fighters already rumored for the event include Robbie Lawler, and Scott Smith. Now joining them is a proposed middleweight match up between Matt Lindland and Ronald “Jacare” Souza, and the promotional debut of Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal against an as yet unknown opponent.

Strikeforce Roundup: Heavyweight Champ Overeem Continues to Fight Overseas, Bouts Confirmed for “Fedor vs. Rogers” Prelims, and More

Strikeforce heavyweight champ Alistair Overeem, who has yet to fight again for the promotion since winning the title in November 2007, returned to MMA action overseas over the weekend, dominating Tony Sylvester at Ultimate Glory 11 in Amsterdam, Netherlands before finishing the fight with a guillotine choke in just 83-seconds. Overeem will fight again this weekend at DREAM 12 against James Thomson before he’s expected to return to Strikeforce to defend the title.

Toughill Tapped as Reserve For Carano vs. Cyborg

Originally rumored to be a participant on the August 15th “Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” fight card, Erin Toughill has instead been tapped as a reserve combatant for the events headlining bout. Should either of the scheduled participants, Gina Carano or Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos, be forced to withdraw, Toughill will take their place.
