Dana White: CBS Would Be “Out of Their Mind” To Air Strikeforce Again

UFC President Dana White today commented to the LA Times about Strikeforce’s debut on CBS this past Saturday, which was headlined by Fedor Emelianenko’s second-round knockout of Brett Rogers: “CBS would be out of their mind to put that rinky-dink [Strikeforce] . . . on the air again . . . and without that backing, [promoters] won’t have the money to pay [Emelianenko].”

Dan Henderson, a former PRIDE title-holder and current middleweight contender, has likely signed with Strikeforce, UFC President Dana White recently told Yahoo Sports. According to the report, a source close to the situation confirmed Henderson had signed with Strikeforce and White echoed the news, though Strikeforce’s Scott Coker denied a deal is done.

At Thursday’s UFC 104 press conference in Los Angeles, UFC President Dana White said contract negotiations with free agent middleweight contender Dan Henderson broke down as Henderson sought to be the highest paid fighter in the promotion.

“We’re at a stalemate right now. The money that [Henderson] is asking for would make him by far the highest-paid guy in the UFC,” said White.

Frank Trigg Likely to Retire After UFC 103 Loss, Impending UFC Release

With the UFC reportedly set to cut Frank Trigg following his unsuccessful return to the Octagon on Saturday, the veteran fighter is now likely to retire from the sport.

According to MMAjunkie, UFC President Dana White said following Trigg’s loss to Josh Koscheck at UFC 103 that Trigg was unlikely to fight again for the promotion and Trigg says that if the UFC follows through with his release he’ll likely call it quits.
