Welterweights DaMarques Johnson and Edgar Garcia have agreed to square off at UFC 107 on December 12 in Memphis, Tennessee, according to MMAjunkie, which reports that bout agreements for the matchup are expected to be signed shortly.

Johnson (13-7), a runner-up on The Ultimate Fighter 9 who lost to James Wilks in June in the 170-pound finals, had been expected to return to the Octagon against Peter Sobotta at UFC 105 in November, but Sobotta’s military commitments forced the bout to be scrapped earlier this week. Johnson had won seven-straight between 2007 and 2008, before recently dropping back-to-back fights.

Garcia (7-0) debuted in the WEC in January with a first-round knockout of Hiromitsu Miura then transferred to the UFC, where he suffered a split decision loss to Brad Blackburn in June.

UFC 107 is headlined by a matchup between UFC lightweight champ BJ Penn and challenger Diego Sanchez, and also includes Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida, Cheick Kongo vs. Frank Mir, and Paul Buentello vs. Todd Duffee.
