13 of the 22 fighters in action on Saturday at “UFC 109: Relentless” in Las Vegas were subject to drug testing by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and all of the tests for performance enhancing drugs and drugs of abuse were negative, NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer today confirmed to MMAFrenzy.com.

Headlining hall of famer Randy Couture and former welterweight champ Matt Serra topped the $944,000 payroll for Saturday’s “UFC 109: Relentless,” according to official fighter salaries released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Couture earned a flat $250,000 for his second-round submission of Mark Coleman in the UFC 109 headliner, while Serra scored $150,000 for his first-round knockout of fellow veteran Frank Trigg. Other top earners included middleweight contender Chael Sonenn, Demian Maia, and Coleman.

In the first-ever matchup between UFC hall of famers, Randy Couture dominated Mark Coleman before finishing him with a second-round submission in the main event of “UFC 109: Relentless” on Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

In the UFC 109 co-main event, Chael Sonnen earned the next middleweight title shot by upsetting fellow contender Nate Marquardt, surviving a deep gash and a frantic final minute to earn a unanimous decision victory fueled by dominant wrestling and ground and pound.

Mac Danzig and Melvin Guillard scored decision victories on the Spike-televised “UFC 109: Relentless” preliminary card, while Joey Beltran made his UFC debut on short notice and upset fellow newcomer Rolles Gracie to kick off the event’s unaired prelims at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Both Couture and Coleman weighed-in at the 205-pound light heavyweight limit for the main event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, which hosts tomorrow’s pay-per-view event.

The fight card for “UFC 109: Relentless,” which takes place on February 6 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, is officially complete, as the UFC confirmed the remaining bouts for the event on Tuesday. UFC 109 airs live on pay-per-view and is headlined by a matchup between UFC Hall of Famers Randy Couture and Mark Coleman.

The UFC on Wednesday confirmed six bouts for the preliminary card of “UFC 109: Relentless,” which takes place on February 6 in Las Vegas, including Demian Maia vs. Dan Miller, Melvin Guillard vs. Ronys Torres, Phillipe Nover vs. Rob Emerson, and Mostapha Al-Turk vs. Rolles Gracie, as well as previously-unreported matchups between lightweights Mac Danzig and Justin Buchholz and heavyweights Tim Hague and Chris Tuchscherer.

Brock Lesnar’s training partner at Minnesota Martial Arts Academy and fellow UFC heavyweight Chris Tuchscherer talked to the Las Vegas Sun about Lesnar’s illness and his decision to withdraw from his November title defense against Shane Carwin, which has since been rescheduled for UFC 108 on January 2:

He actually practiced (Sunday) and thought he might be feeling alright. He said, ‘Wow, I think I’m doing OK today,’ (Monday) he got here and it was the same old stuff — fatiguing right away, not being all there.”

Twelve of the twenty-two UFC 102 fighters in action at Saturday’s event in Portland have been issued medical suspensions by the Oregon State Athletic Commission stemming from their bouts.

The longest suspension was dolled out to Portland-native Ed Herman, who is sidelined indefinitely from a fight-ending knee injury, while headliners Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Randy Couture were both issued 30 day precautionary suspensions.

Nougiera, who defeated Couture by unanimous decision in the evening’s main event, earned $400,000 for the victory, while Couture received $250,000 in the loss. The disclosed payroll for the pay-per-view event was $1,285,000.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira rebounded from his disappointing loss to Frank Mir in his fight with an exciting unanimous decision victory over Randy Couture in the main event of UFC 102 on Saturday at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, Oregon.

The UFC 102 main card also featured impressive knockouts by Thiago Silva and Nate Marquard, while the prelims were highlighted by Todd Duffee’s record-setting 7-second KO in his UFC debut.

All 22 UFC 102 fighters, including heavyweight headliners Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, successfully made weight on Friday at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, Oregon, the same venue which hosts Saturday’s pay-per-view event.

Couture, the 46-year-old UFC hall of famer and former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion, weighed in at 220-pounds, while the former UFC and PRIDE title-holder Nogueira tipped the scale at 231-pounds.

The fight card for UFC 102: Couture vs. Nogueira, which is set to take place on August 29th at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon, has been finalized.

Joining a heavyweight headliner between Randy Coture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira on the pay-per-view main card are Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva, Chris Leben vs. Jake Rosholt, Demian Maia vs. Nate Marquardt, and Matt Hamill vs. Brandon Vera.

Heavyweight up-and-comer Chris Tuchscherer will reportedly make his UFC debut at UFC 102 on August 29th in Portland, Oregon against Gabriel Gonzaga. UFC 102 is headlined by Randy Couture vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and is also expected to feature Demian Maia vs. Nate Marquardt, Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva, and Matt Hamill vs. Brandon Vera.
