On Tuesday, the UFC officially announced a pair of December cards, as the promotion heads to Las Vegas on December 5 for The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale before holding UFC 107 on December 12 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Previously-reported fights between Matt Hamill and Jon Jones as well as Frankie Edgar and Kurt Pellegrino were confirmed for The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale, while BJ Penn vs. Diego Sanchez, Frank Mir vs. Cheick Kongo, and Thiago Alves vs. Paulo Thiago were announced for UFC 107.

A rumored heavyweight matchup between Frank Mir and Cheick Kongo slated for UFC 107 could be scrapped, at least if Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira gets his way, as the former interim title-holder, who bested Randy Couture at last weekend’s UFC 102 event, is calling for a rematch with Mir at the December 12 event in Memphis, Tennessee.

A heavyweight matchup between Cheick Kongo and Frank Mir is reportedly in the works for UFC 107, which takes place in December in Memphis, Tennessee, according to Sportsnet, citing a source close to Kongo.

Both Kongo and Mir had won three-straight fights before suffering losses to Cain Velasquez and Brock Lesnar respectively in their most-recent bouts.

11 of the 24 fighters who were in action on Saturday in Cologne, Germany at UFC 99 have been issued medical suspensions, including main event winner Rich Franklin, co-headliners Cain Velasquez and Cheick Kongo, and Mostapha Al-Turk, who suffered a controversial eye poke from eventual winner Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic.

In a clash of former champions, Rich Franklin defeated Wanderlei Silva via unanimous decision on Saturday in Cologne, Germany in the main event of UFC 99: The Comeback. Cain Velasquez, Mirko "Cro Cop", Mike Swick, Spencer Fisher, and Dan Hardy also picked up main card victories at the event.

All 24 UFC 99 fighters, including headliners Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin, successfully made weight on Friday at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany for their bouts, which take place at the venue on Saturday and air live on pay-per-view.

Heavyweight Cheick Kongo has been tapped to replace an ill Heath Herring and take on undefeated up-and-comer Cain Velasquez in the co-headliner of UFC 99 on June 13th at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany.

UFC president Dana White announced during the post-UFC 97 press conference that former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell has fought for the last time in his hall-of-fame career. Also announced were the official attendance, gate, and bonus figures for UFC 97.

Anderson Silva defeated Thales Leites via unanimous decision in the UFC 97 main event on Saturday in Montreal, Canada in a fight that will be remembered as one of the most uneventful in UFC history. In the co-headliner, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua likely retired Chuck Liddell with a first-round knockout.
