UFC 112 Main Card Complete for “Invincible” on April 10 in Abu Dhabi

The pay-per-view main card for “UFC 112: Invincible,” the UFC’s debut in Abu Dhabi on April 10, is now complete following the recent addition of Terry Etim vs. Rafael dos Anjos and Kendall Grove vs. Mark Munoz to the event’s official fight card.

UFC 112 is headlined by UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva vs. Demian Maia and lightweight title-holder BJ Penn vs. Frankie Edgar, and also features former welterweight champ Matt Hughes vs. UFC newcomer Renzo Gracie.

Brad Blackburn vs. DaMarques Johnson Set for UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi

Welterweights Brad Blackburn and DaMarques Johnson have agreed to meet on April 10 at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi. Blackburn has his three-fight UFC win streak snapped in a January loss to TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah, while Johnson, the runner-up on TUF 9, rebounded with the “Submission of the Night” of Edgar Garcia in December.

UFC Fight Night 20 Fighter Salaries: Chris Leben’s $60K Tops Payroll

Chris Leben topped the $357,000 payroll for Monday’s UFC Fight Night 20, according to figures released Wednesday by the Virginia State Athletic Commission, taking home an event-high $60,000 for his decision victory over Jay Silva on the event’s preliminary.

Other top-earners for the Spike-televised event included headliners Gray Maynard ($40,000) and Nate Diaz ($48,000) along with Amir Sadollah ($30,000) and Aaron Simpson ($22,000).

Lightweight contender Gray Maynard avenged the only loss of his MMA career on Monday, edging TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz by split decision in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 20 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.

Amir Sadollah vs. Brad Blackburn Added to UFC Fight Night 20 in January

The Ultimate Fighter 7 winner Amir Sadollah will square off against IFL veteran Brad Blackburn at UFC Fight Night 20 on January 11 in Fairfax, Virginia, according to Examiner.com.

Sadollah rebounded from an August loss by earning a unanimous decision win over veteran Phil Baroni earlier this month at UFC 106, while Blackburn improved to 3-0 inside the Octagon with a decision win over Edgar Garcia in June, but has been out of action since while recovering from shoulder surgery.

TUF 9 Finale Fighters Test Clean for Steroids and Drugs

All twelve fighters who were selected by the Nevada State Athletic Commission to be tested for steroids and drugs of abuse at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale on June 20 have tested negative.

According to NSAC executive director Keith Kizer, fighters Diego Sanchez, Clay Guida, DaMarques Johnson, James Wilks, Ross Pearson, Andre Winner, Chris Lytle, Joe Stevenson, Brad Blackburn, Nick Osipczak, Melvin Guillard, and Tomasz Drwal tested negative at the Spike-televised event, which took place at The Pearl in Las Vegas.

The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale Medical Suspensions Include Clay Guida and Kevin Burns

Main card losers Clay Guida and Kevin Burns were among the eight fighters issued medical suspensions by the Nevada State Athletic Commission stemming from Saturday’s event, which was held at The Pearl in Las Vegas.

Guida, who suffered a unanimous decision loss to Diego Sanchez in the evening’s main event, is suspended until August 15 for precautionary reasons. Burns must have his right hand cleared by a doctor or serve a suspension until December 18. He too faces a minimum suspension until August 15 after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Chris Lytle on the Spike-televised card.

Sanchez and Stevenson Top Earners at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale

Diego Sanchez and Joe Stevenson, who both recorded victories on Saturday at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale, topped the list of official salaries for the event, which were released today by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Sanchez earned $90,000 for his main event win over Clay Guida ($23,000), while Stevenson received $70,000 by topping Nate Diaz ($20,000) in the first bout of the Spike-televised main card.

Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida delivered on their Fight of the Year hype, engaging in a three-round war in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale on Saturday that saw Sanchez edge Guida by split decision on the judge’s scorcards.

The rest of the card failed to disappoint either as Chris Lytle and Kevin Burns traded blows in a bout that deserved Fight of the Night before being upstaged by Sanchez and Guida, Joe Stevenson looked impressive in topping Nate Diaz by unanimous decision in a technical battle, and welterweight James Wilks and lightweight Ross Perason were crowned The Ultimate Fighter 9 champions with victories on the Spike-televised main card.

TUF 9 Finale Weigh-In Results: Guida and Sanchez on Weight for Main Event

Lightweight headliners Clay Guida (155) and Diego Sanchez (156) successfully made weight on Friday at the weigh-ins for The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale, as did TUF 9 welterweight finalists DaMarques Johnson (170) and James Wilks (171) and lightweight finalists Ross Pearson (156).

The event takes place on Saturday at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas, the same venue which hosted today’s weigh-ins, and airs live on Spike TV beginning at 9pm ET.
