After going 1-1 following his appearance on the UFC reality series, “The Juggernaut” participated in Vendetta FC’s one night tournament in September, where he advanced to the finals with back-to-back wins before losing to Rodney Wallace.

Lighty (5-0), who trains at The Pit alongside Chuck Liddell, improved to 5-0 in August with a first-round knockout of Mike Cook in his Strikeforce debut.

“Evolution,” which airs live on Showtime from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California, features Cung Le vs. Scott Smith and Matt Lindland vs. Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza as well as Robbie Lawler and the debut of Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal.

UFC veterans Roan Carneiro and Yves Edwards were both victorious at Friday’s  “Shine 2: American Top Team vs. The World” event, which took place at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida. Representing ATT, Carneiro topped Jorge Patino in the headliner, while Edwards submitted James Warfield in the second-round in the co-main event. Britt improves to 7-2 with the victory, including five knockouts in under two minutes, while Mendes drops to 16-5 with three-straight losses in defeat.

Local Mike Easton captured the first-ever UWC bantamweight title on Saturday in Fairfax, Virginia with a third-round submission of late-replacement Justin Robbins. Jamal Patterson submitted Antwain Britt in just 44-seconds in the evening’s co-main event.

East coast MMA promotion Ultimate Warrior Challenge has announced that Mike Easton will face Chase Beebe for the first-ever UWC bantamweight championship in the main event of UWC: Man “O” War on February 21st at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.

“The UWC has always been committed to delivering the highest quality fights for metro Washington, DC and east coast MMA fans,” said UWC CEO S. Marcello Foran in a press release announcing the fight. “That’s why we are so excited to announce the signing of this bout. Chase Beebe and Mike Easton are two of the best bantamweight fighters in America – if not the world – whose styles are tailor made for each other. If there was ever a ‘can’t miss’ fight for fans in the Washington, DC area, this is it.

“Booking this fight was a no-brainer. Both fighters are incredible athletes and always do a superb job of entertaining the crowd. We are dying to see how Beebe’s in-your-face grinding style will look against Easton’s first-rate athleticism and vicious knockout power. I know whoever wins this fight will have definitively earned the title ‘UWC Bantamweight Champion’.”

The Ultimate Fighter 8 cast member Antwain Britt will be in action in the co-main event against an opponent to be announced.

MMAFrenzy.com today confirmed with sources close to the fight that Britt and Roufus will not be meeting on October 11th with Roufus instead taking on Hector Ramirez on the same date in Las Vegas as part of a Superfights MMA event that has replaced Affliction’s rescheduled event at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Britt earned his way into the Ultimate Fighter house with a majority decision victory over Ryan Jimmo in the opening round of the 205-pound tournament. When contacted by MMAFrenzy.com Britt confirmed he would not be taking on Roufus as previously expected (in fact, the official UWC website still lists the matchup on the event’s official fight card) but declined to comment at this time on his rumored release from the UFC.

A former kickboxing champion, Roufus was defeated by Maurice Smith via first-round submission in his MMA debut at a Strikeforce event in early-2008 but has rebounded to win four of his last six MMA bouts including a September 19th second-round TKO of Reggie Cato.

• Light heavyweight Lance Evans, the older brother of UFC 205-pound contender Rashad Evans, will be returning to TKO Championship Fighting where he previously competed and will take on Steve Bosse at TKO 35 in early-October. Evans was stopped by Vinicius Magalhaes via TKO in their opening round fight due to a rib injury.
• Lightweight Joe Duarte has signed a six-fight deal with Colloseo Championship Fighting. He was defeated by Phillipe Nover via second-round rear naked choke in the opening round.
• Light heavyweight Jason Guida, the older brother of UFC lightweight star Clay Guida who didn’t fight on TUF 8 after failing to make weight, has signed with EliteXC and will make his debut at the promotion’s October 10th ShoXC event against Mamed Khalidov, according to Five Ounces of Pain.
• SPOILER: Light heavyweight Antwain Britt, who remains in the competition after defeating Ryan Jimmo via majority decision on the debut episode, will headline UWC: Confrontation against Rick Roufus on October 11th in Virginia.

The complete, 32-fighter cast of lightweights and light heavyweights for the upcoming season of the UFC’s “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series, “The Ultimate Fighter 8: Team Nogueria vs. Team Mir”, was today announced by Spike TV.

The upcoming season of “The Ultimate Fighter” features both a sixteen fighter, 155-pound tournament and a sixteen fighter, 205-pound tournament.

Two new “Ultimate Fighter” champions will be crowned when the eighth season concludes with a live finale on December 13th at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas. The event will air live on Spike TV and will also feature other fighters from the current and past seasons of the reality series and UFC veterans.

“The Ultimate Fighter 8″ debuts on September 17th on Spike TV immediately following UFC Fight Night 15.
