Strikeforce today officially announced its expected return to CBS, which is scheduled for April 17 in Nashville, Tennessee and headlined by the Strikeforce debut of veteran Dan Henderson vs. middleweight champion Jake Shields.

The event will also feature light heavyweight title-holder Gegard Mousasi vs. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez vs. Shinya Aoki.

Several preliminary card fights from “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber,” World Extreme Cagefighting’s pay-per-view debut on April 24, could air live on Versus, MMAFrenzy.com has learned.

According to a WEC official, the preliminary card broadcast is currently “under consideration” for WEC 48 and would be similar to the popular “UFC Prelims” series of its sister promotion.

The fight card for “UFC 111: St-Pierre vs. Hardy” is now officially complete for March 27 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. UFC 111 is headlined by welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre vs. challenger Dan Hardy, while heavyweight contenders Frank Mir and Shane Carwin will vie for the interim heavyweight title in the card’s co-main event.

The pay-per-view main card for “UFC 112: Invincible,” the UFC’s debut in Abu Dhabi on April 10, is now complete following the recent addition of Terry Etim vs. Rafael dos Anjos and Kendall Grove vs. Mark Munoz to the event’s official fight card.

UFC 112 is headlined by UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva vs. Demian Maia and lightweight title-holder BJ Penn vs. Frankie Edgar, and also features former welterweight champ Matt Hughes vs. UFC newcomer Renzo Gracie.

Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez will defend his title against DREAM standout and promotional newcomer Shinya Aoki at Strikeforce’s return to CBS on April 15 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem is set to resume his Strikeforce career more than two years after winning the title, as he’s likely to fight Brett Rogers in a non-title bout at the promotion’s May 15 Showtime-televised event in St. Louis.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski has a new deal with Strikeforce and will end a near year-long layoff when he returns to action against Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva at the promotion’s May 15 Showtime-televised event in St. Louis.

A matchup between notable UFC middleweights Michael Bisping and Dan Miller is in the works for UFC 114 on May 29 in Las Vegas, with at least one fighter reportedly agreeing to the likely pay-per-view bout. Bisping is coming off a decision loss to Wanderlei Silva last month, while Miller looks to rebound from recent back-to-back losses.

Spike TV today announced the cast for “The Ultimate Fighter 11,” which debuts on March 31 at 10pm ET immediately following “UFC Fight Night 21: Florian vs. Gomi“. TUF 11 features a cast of 28 middleweights, coached by former light heavyweight champions Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz, who will compete to become the next “Ultimate Fighter”.

Five-time “World’s Strongest Man” Mariusz Pudzianowski, recently rumored to headline an April 23 event against Tim Sylvia, will instead return to action on May 7 in his native Poland at KSW XIII against an opponent to-be-announced.

The fight card for “WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz,” which takes place this Saturday, March 6, at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, is now complete following the official addition of late-replacement George Roop against Leonard Garcia on the event’s preliminary card.

WEC 47 is headlined by bantamweight champion Brian Bowles vs. challenger Dominick Cruz and also features Miguel Torres vs. Joseph Benavidez and Jens Pulver vs. Javier Vazquez on its five-fight Versus-televised main card, which kicks off at 10pm ET.

The fight card for UFC Fight Night 21 is nearing completion, as lightweights Rob Emerson and Nik Lentz have agreed to fight on the preliminary card of the March 31 event in Charlotte, North Carolina. Emerson snapped a two fight losing streak with a win over Phillipe Nover in February, while Lentz enters off a January draw that followed a win in his UFC debut.

Carolina Fight Promotions returned to Wilmington, North Carolina on Saturday with another action packed event, packing approximately 2,500 people into the sold out Schwartz Center. The event was headlined by a 175-pound match up between professional debutants Will Estes and Allan Greenway, which saw Estes force a corner stoppage after the first round.
