In a surprising matchup, middleweight contender Dan Henderson and light heavyweight contender Rich Franklin will meet in the main event of UFC 103 on September 19 in Dallas in a rematch of their January UFC 93 meeting, which saw Henderson top Franklin by split decision.

Franklin met one-on-one with UFC President Dana White in Las Vegas last week to negotiate an extension and it appears a new contract will be in place soon to keep Franklin in the UFC for the indefinite future and possibly for the remainder of his career.

Read More »A groin injury suffered by UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre in his UFC 100 victory over Thiago Alves on July 11 won’t require surgery, it was announced on Saturday, with the 170-pound title-holder set to return to the gym within the next few weeks.
“Evaluation of the results of an MRI indicate that no surgery will be required, and Georges should be back in the gym training within a few weeks after a brief rehabilitation,” read the announcement.
