  Mir was injured September 17, 2004. Arlovski won the Interim Title February 5, 2005 and was promoted to Real Champion on August 12, 2005. In other words, Mir was stripped of his title roughly a year after his accident.

  The operative word is “might” which is why you can’t just turn all this straight away into the real title. This is what Interim titles are for. Let the Lesnar situation resolve itself a little more before deciding what to do with his title.

  Unfortunately, staph just kind of happens. Usually these infections happen through improper care of mats used for wrestling, but it can be picked up just about anywhere.
  Mono, to the best of my knowledge, just kind of happens and heals when it feels good and ready to. The undisclosed illness is what worries me.

  Here we go again…
  The UFC didn’t give anything to anyone tonight other than paychecks and bonuses. The judges hired by whatever sanctioning body was in charge of the fight decided that Couture won the fight. That’s all there is to it.
