In 2013, The Carpenter will test out new waters in the UFC at the 145 pound division.
Guida,Quote:“It will be nice to finally be one of the bigger guys in the cage. I don’t cut weight at 155, and making 145 will be no problem for me. My fans will get to see The Dude put some royal beatings on everyone in the division. I will not be satisfied until the Featherweight belt is mine,”September 28, 2012 at 4:33 pm #82440
I like Clay Guida at 145 because too many dudes that are bigger at 155.
At 145 he’ll have the ability to finish more guys than he did at 155. Plus, that division keeps getting more and more stacked so i’m sure there are plenty of good fights available for him.September 28, 2012 at 4:44 pm #82441
Yeah, I’m excited for his featherweight debut. I think he’ll do great there. I don’t know if he’ll win the belt, but I’m sure he’ll come close. As time goes on, that division gets better and better, like all. It’s going to start to feel like lightweight soon. It’ll be interesting to see how the smaller and quicker guys will handle Clay. I think most won’t be able to.September 28, 2012 at 6:22 pm #82445
lets hope he doesnt continue that dancing around crap he did in his last fight at ’55. i like watching Clay, but i dont like watching him do the Waltz around the eff’ing cage.September 28, 2012 at 6:56 pm #82449
I prefer to see Clay more offensive, but if he does use that style, I just hope he’s more effective with it.September 29, 2012 at 1:45 am #82466
Along as Edgar, and Aldo is at 145. Guida will never be champion.September 29, 2012 at 7:10 am #82469
I don’t think Guida will be champ either, but I could see him work his way to a title shot.September 30, 2012 at 2:08 am #82481
yeah def. agree. It’s crazy that Guida, and Edgar never fought at 155, also how stacked 145 is now. Siver,Edgar, and now Guida all at 145. Plus the upcoming beasts already there.September 30, 2012 at 6:17 am #82485
They’ve both been around for awhile at 155 and they’ve never crossed paths, but I think that’ll change at 145. That division is starting to fill up, it’s starting to get that feeling of being a true tough division, like all the ones above it. I wonder what’ll happen if Swanson and Guida are both successful in that division at the same time, which they probably will be. There’s other guys to fight, so they probably won’t, but if they keep winning, I’m sure the thought will get tossed out there.September 30, 2012 at 7:52 pm #82501
Five- Yeah it’s def. a legit weight class now.I wouldn’t mind seeing Koch-Guida.October 1, 2012 at 12:35 am #82510
If Koch is out of the title picture now, with Edgar there, then I would like to see Koch-Guida. Let the winner of that possibly have a #1 contender bout against someone.October 1, 2012 at 12:53 am #82512
Koch-Guida would be a war. I have no idea who to take in Aldo-Edgar. I’m slightly leaning toward Edgar.October 1, 2012 at 12:58 am #82515
I’ll have to give Edgar the edge too, but it could be his toughest fight ever.October 1, 2012 at 1:13 am #82518
Yeah it might be. Edgar def. never seen striking like Aldo brings. The only reason I’m liking Edgar is, after watching, that fight between Aldo-Hominick,I doubt he will be able to handle Edgar’s wrestling.October 1, 2012 at 2:22 am #82525
Edgar’s wrestling’s the reason why I give him the edge. Aldo’s quick and probably has been working on that, so it could be tougher than we think. I still think it’ll be good enough though, but he’ll have his hands full with Aldo’s stand up.
