Hosman Replaces Osawa Against Yahya at WEC 42

A foot injury has forced bantamweight Kenji Osawa to withdraw from his scheduled bout against Rani Yahya at WEC 42 on August 9 in Las Vegas, according to Versus.com.

John Hosman has agreed to replace Osawa and take on Yahya on short notice on the preliminary card of the Versus-televised event.

WEC bantamweight champion and Chicago-native Miguel Torres threw out the first pitch at today’s Chicago White Sox game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

The first pitch was followed by Major League Baseball’s 18th perfect game, tossed by the White Sox’ Mark Buehrle.

Urijah Faber Has “No Idea” When He’ll Return; Likely Won’t Fight Until 2010

Former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber, who injured both his hands in July in an unsuccessful bid to reclaim the title against Mike Brown, has told MMA Fanhouse that he has “no idea” when he’ll return to the cage, with “The California Kid” unlikely to fight again until next year.

“Hopefully it’s sooner than later, but I’ll still be a happy dude,” said Faber. “I’ll be happy no matter what. I’m good no matter what happens.”
