11 of the 24 fighters who were in action on Saturday in Cologne, Germany at UFC 99 have been issued medical suspensions, including main event winner Rich Franklin, co-headliners Cain Velasquez and Cheick Kongo, and Mostapha Al-Turk, who suffered a controversial eye poke from eventual winner Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic.

Heavyweight Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic has likely fought for the last time in the UFC Octagon. Despite defeating Mostapha Al-Turk on Saturday at UFC 99 to fulfill a unique one-fight deal with the promotion, Cro Cop informed UFC President Dana White following the first-round TKO that he had signed a three-fight deal with Japan-based DREAM.

UFC 99, which took place on Saturday at the Lanxess, Arena in Cologne, Germany, drew an official attendance of 12,800 for a $1.3 million live gate. UFC President Dana White announced the figures at the post-UFC 99 press conference. White also announced that $60,000 bonuses were awarded to Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva (Fight of the Night), Mike Swick (Knockout of the Night), and Terry Etim (Submission of the Night).

In a clash of former champions, Rich Franklin defeated Wanderlei Silva via unanimous decision on Saturday in Cologne, Germany in the main event of UFC 99: The Comeback. Cain Velasquez, Mirko "Cro Cop", Mike Swick, Spencer Fisher, and Dan Hardy also picked up main card victories at the event.

As a follow up to yesterday's post regarding the broadcast of UFC 99 in the UK, the UFC has announced the event will air on Setanta as scheduled. There were serious doubts whether Setanta would survive until Saturday to air the card, but it appears they'll be around at least one more day to air the event, which is taking place in Cologne, Germany and features 6 UK fighters.

With Setanta Sports, the UFC's television partner in the UK, reportedly on the verge of collapse due to financial issues, concerns have been raised over whether UFC 99, will air in the country. According to UFC President Dana White, UFC 99 "will be on TV" in the UK.

As reported in May, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic will return to the Octagon at UFC 99 on June 13 in Cologne, Germany against Mustapha Al-Turk. From UFC.com: "After weeks of speculation, the news is finally official – international superstar Mirko Cro Cop is returning to the UFC."
