A broken leg sustained during a sparring session earlier today has forced Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Josh Thomson to withdraw from his scheduled title defense against Gilbert Melendez at Strikeforce’s “Shamrock vs. Diaz” event at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. on April 11.

Strikeforce today announced that a matchup between undefeated heavyweights Brett Rogers (8-0) and Ron "Abongo" Humphrey (12-0) completes the official lineup for Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Diaz, which takes place on April 11th at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California and airs live on Showtime.

Welterweights Joe Riggs and Phil Baroni are likely to meet on Strikeforce's rumored June 6th event in St. Louis. Both fighters have reportedly been offered the matchup but neither has officially signed on for the bout.

The anticipated Strikeforce welterweight bout between Robbie Lawler and Jake Shields will take place on June 6th in St. Louis, according to Matt Hughes, not May 16th in Tacoma, Washington as previously rumored.

Kevin Randleman has signed with Strikeforce, Showtime has announced the Strikeforce broadcast team, Joe Riggs and Brett Rogers are under consideration to complete the April 11th main card, plus quotes and photos from Strikeforce's Thursday press conference.

The reported bout between Jake Shields and Joe Riggs at Strikeforce's April 11th Showtime debut is now off. Instead, Shields will look to make his promotional debut in a middleweight bout with former EliteXC champion Robbie Lawler in May.

Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos will return to action on April 11 as part of the "Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Diaz" card to be held at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. Her opponent will be fellow Strikeforce debutant Hitomi Akano, from Japan.
