The card also featured victories by notables Gilbert Yvel, Chris Horodecki, Javier Vasquez, and Affliction vice president Tom Atencio.

Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida delivered on their Fight of the Year hype, engaging in a three-round war in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale on Saturday that saw Sanchez edge Guida by split decision on the judge’s scorcards.

The rest of the card failed to disappoint either as Chris Lytle and Kevin Burns traded blows in a bout that deserved Fight of the Night before being upstaged by Sanchez and Guida, Joe Stevenson looked impressive in topping Nate Diaz by unanimous decision in a technical battle, and welterweight James Wilks and lightweight Ross Perason were crowned The Ultimate Fighter 9 champions with victories on the Spike-televised main card.

Weigh-ins for The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale take place today, Friday June 19, at 7pm ET at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas.

The Spike-televised event is headlined by a showdown between lightweight contenders Clay Guida and Diego Sanchez and also features Nate Diaz vs. Joe Stevenson, as well as the TUF 9 lightweight finals between Andre Winner (UK) and Ross Pearson (UK) and the welterweight finals featuring Demarques Johnson (US) and James Wilks (UK).

In a clash of former champions, Rich Franklin defeated Wanderlei Silva via unanimous decision on Saturday in Cologne, Germany in the main event of UFC 99: The Comeback. Cain Velasquez, Mirko "Cro Cop", Mike Swick, Spencer Fisher, and Dan Hardy also picked up main card victories at the event.

Lyman Good became the first-ever Bellator welterweight champion on Friday in Uncasville, Connecticut, knocking out Omar De La Cruz just 83-seconds into their Bellator XI headliner to win the promotion's 170-pound tournament and its $100,000 bonus.

Mike Brown again got the best of Urijah Faber on Sunday at WEC 41, topping the former 145-pound title holder by unanimous decision to retain his title in the anticipated rematch which headlined the Versus-televised event at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California.

Jake Shields needed less than half a round to submit Robbie Lawler in the main event of Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields on Saturday, forcing Lawler to tap to a guillotine choke 2:02 into the opening round of their catchweight headliner. In other main card action, Brett Rogers knocked out Andrei Arlovski in just 22-seconds and Nick Diaz submitted Scott Smith.

Following a dominant first round, Joe Soto forced Yahir Reyes to submit to a rear naked choke late in the second frame of their headlining bout at Bellator X at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California on Friday to become the promotion's first featherweight champion.

Middleweights Hector Lombard and Jared Hess will meet on June 19th in the 185-pound finals after both fighters earned first-round TKO victories on Friday at Bellator's week 9 event. The event took place at the Monroe Civic Center in Monroe, Louisiana and will air tonight on ESPN Deportes.

Lyoto Machida became the new UFC light heavyweight champion on Saturday in Las Vegas, taking out title-holder Rashad Evans with a flurry of punches in the second round of their UFC 98 headliner to capture the 205-pound belt. Matt Hughes, Drew McFedries, Chael Sonnen, and Frankie Edgar also picked up main card victories.
