UFC 114, which airs live on pay-per-view from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, coincides with the second UFC Fan Expo.

Jackson and Evans had been expected to settle their feud at UFC 107 in December, but Jackson’s role in “The A-Team” and brief retirement (which ended late last year) postponed the fight, before the pair formally agreed to headline UFC 114 last month.

“Rampage” (30-7), who lost the 205-pound title to Forrest Griffin in July 2008, is coming off back-to-back wins over Wanderlei Silva and Keith Jardine, while Evans (14-1-1) rebounded from loss last May to Lyoto Machida with a unanimous decision over Thiago Silva in January.

The latest rumored UFC 114 fight card features:

Liddell has won both previous meetings between the former light heavyweight champs, scoring a second-round knockout of Ortiz in their first meeting in April 2004 before a third-round TKO ended their second fight in December 2006.

While reports suggested that Liddell could be pulled from his matchup with Ortiz to face Rich Franklin, who may be brought in as a replacement for Ortiz on TUF 11, UFC President Dana White denied the rumors and said the UFC was instead planning on Franklin fighting Randy Couture.

Liddell (21-7) briefly retired after suffering a first-round TKO to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in his most-recent fight last April, his fourth loss in his last five fights, but the 40-year-old UFC hall of famer has opted to return for at least one more fight.

Ortiz (15-7-1), who returned from an 18-month layoff in a loss to Forrest Griffin in November, won five-straight between 2004 and 2006 over Griffin, Ken Shamrock, Vitor Belfort, and Patrick Cote, but has failed to win since, going 0-3-1 with losses to Liddell, Lyoto Machida, Griffin and a draw against Rashad Evans.

Liddell-Ortiz was expected to headline UFC 115 on June 12 in Vancouver, but Ortiz was recently hospitalized with a “bad flu” and it’s not yet known if the illness could delay the matchup.

Bellator today officially announced that it has signed lightweight UFC veteran Roger Huerta, who will compete in the promotion's upcoming 155-pound tournament and debut at Bellator's season two premiere on April 8 in Hollywood, Florida.

Bellator today officially announced that it has signed lightweight UFC veteran Roger Huerta, who will compete in the promotion’s upcoming 155-pound tournament and debut at Bellator’s season two premiere on April 8 in Hollywood, Florida at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

The terms of the deal, which was first reported on Saturday, were not announced during a Monday press conference. Huerta’s first opponent has yet to be determined, pending the final addition to the season two tournament’s roster, but is expected to be announced soon.

Huerta (21-3-1) emerged as a lightweight contender with six-straight UFC victories over the likes of Leonard Garcia and Clay Guida, but after dropping a decision to Kenny Florian in August 2008, “El Matador” declined a new contract with the UFC and took a break from fighting to pursue an acting career. He returned to action in September, completing his UFC contract with a split decision loss to Gray Maynard.

The back-to-back losses snapped Huerta’s 16-fight win streak.

Huerta, who was notably the first mixed martial artist to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 2007, was also in talks with Strikeforce before signing with Bellator, where he joins Toby Imada, Carey Vanier, Ferrid Kheder, Mike Ricci, Janne Tulirinta and Chad Hinton in the lightweight tourney, which airs live on Fox Sports Net.

The winner of the tournament is then expected to face champion Eddie Alvarez, who won the promotion’s first lightweight tournament in 2009, during Bellator’s third season later this year.

In the wake of reports that Chuck Liddell would not be fighting rival Ultimate Fighter 11 coach Tito Ortiz and would instead return to action against Rich Franklin, likely at June’s UFC 115, UFC President Dana White took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon to deny the rumors and confirm that Franklin will likely fight Randy Couture next.

“Not true! We are doing couture vs franklin not chuck. Nothing happened to tito. Tito and I are cool,” wrote White.

The matchup between Franklin and Couture was first reported last month and was originally believed to be in the works for UFC 115 on June 12 in Vancouver, but later reports indicated it would likely take place in August.

The status of the previously-announced bout between Liddell and Ortiz, expected for UFC 115, is uncertain.

According to earlier reports, Ortiz was unable to complete taping for TUF 11, which debuts on March 31 on Spike, and Franklin was reportedly brought in as a replacement.

A matchup between former light heavyweight champions and rival The Ultimate Fighter 11 coaches Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz, expected to headline UFC 115, is off, and Liddell is instead likely to face Rich Franklin at the June 12 event in Vancouver, not a rumored UFC Fight Night 22 card on April 17.

Rumors of the matchup first surfaced last night on The Underground and Fighters Only today reported the bout would headline UFN 22, but MMAjunkie has since confirmed the fight is in the works UFC 115.

While the reason for Ortiz’s withdrawal is unconfirmed, sources told MMAjunkie that he was unable to complete filming for TUF 11 and Franklin was his likely replacement.

The news follows a series of messages posted by Ortiz on Twitter late last month during the final week of filming for TUF 11.

“If things couldn’t get worse. They just did! F***!!!!,” wrote Ortiz. “Jenna and I are fine. I guess business is business … Everybody will see it all! … Thinking that life couldn’t get any harder? It just did! Another challenge that god has given me! WOW.”

Ortiz has since posted a number of messages thanking Dana White and the UFC for bringing him back, indicating he’s still on good terms with the promotion, though his future plans remain unclear.

Liddell (21-7) briefly retired after suffering a first-round TKO to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in his most-recent fight last April, his fourth loss in his last five fights, but the 40-year-old UFC hall of famer has opted to return for at least one more fight.

Franklin (26-5), a former UFC middleweight champion, is 2-2 since moving up from 185-pounds in 2008, bouncing back from a split decision to Dan Henderson with a win over Wanderlei Silva last June before suffering a first-round knockout to Vitor Belfort in September. “Ace” underwent abdomen surgery in January that was expected to keep him out until May.

With Liddell-Franklin not in the works for UFC Fight Night 22, it is not known if the UFC will continue with plans for the event, which was expected to air on Spike TV opposite Strikeforce’s CBS-televised “Nashville” event.

“We never really planned to move, but we wanted to keep our business options open,” Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker told Sherdog on Friday. “Everything is business as usual (for April 17) and full steam ahead.”

According to the report, Lashley is in talks to appear on the card, though no potential opponents have surfaced yet.

Earlier this week, Coker told MMAjunkie that the CBS broadcast would, time-permitting, feature a preliminary card fight from the event’s preliminary card for the first time in the promotion’s history.

Strikeforce: Nashville is headlined by middleweight champion Jake Shields vs. Dan Henderson, and also features light heavyweight title-holder Gegard Mousasi vs. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez vs. Shinya Aoki.

Kampmann (16-3) made his welterweight debut in 2009 with back-to-back wins over Alexandre Baros and former WEC champ Carlos Condit, but suffered a first-round TKO to Paul Daley in September. After rebounding with a January victory over Jacob Volkmann, “The Hitman” was forced to withdraw from a showdown with Saunders, scheduled for UFC 111 later this month, due to a nasty gash over his eye.

Thiago (13-1) upset Josh Koscheck in his UFC debut last February with a first-round knockout, but then lost his first career bout to Jon Fitch in July. After bouncing back with his own win over Volkmann in November, Thiago returned to action last month, when he scored a second-round submission of Mike Swick.

UFC 115 has yet to be officially announced, but is expected to be headlined by a matchup between former light heavyweight champions and rival TUF 11 coaches Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz.

The Kimbo-Mitrione matchup was first reported in January and confirmed during last month’s UFC 110, but was never added to the official UFC 113 fight card on UFC.com until today, when the UFC also formally announced the bout:

Canada will get their first dose of the Kimbo Slice phenomenon on Saturday, May 8th, when the Ultimate Fighter alumnus looks to make it 2-0 in the Octagon on the UFC 113: Machida vs Shogun 2 card at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Slice (4-1), fresh off his three round unanimous decision victory over Houston Alexander at the TUF10 finale last December, will be in with a familiar foe on May 8th, as he takes on his Ultimate Fighter castmate, Matt Mitrione in a heavyweight bout made official today.

Mitrione (1-0), an NFL veteran, made his proper mixed martial arts debut on the TUF10 finale card and showed impressive poise and power as he knocked out Marcus Jones in the second round, and he hopes to make another statement when he squares off with Kimbo this spring.

Tickets for UFC 113: Machida vs Shogun 2, are on sale now.

UFC 113 is headlined by a rematch between light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida and challenger Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, while welterweight contenders Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley meet in the card’s co-main event.

Dominick Cruz claimed the WEC bantamweight title on Saturday in the main event of WEC 47 after former champion Brian Bowles was forced to bow out of the headliner with a broken hand after two hard fought rounds.

The bout capped off “WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz,” which took place at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio and aired live on Versus.

Bowles struggled to mount any offense after breaking his right hand in his first punch of the fight, and after being bloodied by the elusive Cruz, who used effective footwork to dodge Bowles’ attempts while tagging him with counters, was forced to call it quits after the second frame.

Cruz improves to 15-1 with his sixth-straight victory, while Bowles will have to wait for his hand to heal before looking to rebound from his first career loss, which dropped him to 8-1.

In the WEC 47 co-headliner, bantamweight contender Joseph Benavidez dominated former title-holder Miguel Torres, eventually gashing him open midway through the second round before securing a guillotine that forced Torres to tap, sealing the upset.

Also on the main card, veteran Jens Pulver likely fought for the final time in his hall of fame career after suffering a first-round submission to Javier Vazquez, while LC Davis and Bart Palaszewski also picked up wins.

The WEC 47 preliminary card featured several highlight reel stoppages, including Scott Jorgensen’s31-second guillotine of Chad George and Anthony Pettis’ head kick KO of Danny Castillo in the opening round. Fredson Paixao and Ricardo Lamas also scored first-round wins on the prelims, while Chad Mendes earned a unanimous decision in his WEC debut.

Featherweights Leonard Garcia and George Roop fought to a split draw on the undercard after Roop lost a point in the final round for a low blow.

The complete WEC 47 results were:
