Popular light heavyweight and former UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has landed the role of B. A. Baracus in the upcoming “A-Team” movie, which is currently being filmed for a mid-2010 release.

The role, which was portrayed by Mr. T in the 1980s series, will prevent Jackson from fighting Rashad Evans in the co-main event of UFC 107 on December 12, according to MMA Bay, which is known to have close ties to Jackson’s Wolfslair camp.

UFC newcomer Paul Daley, who had been scheduled to make his Octagon debut against Brian Foster on the UFC 103 preliminary card, will instead replace an injured Mike Swick and take on Martin Kampmann in a welterweight matchup on the pay-per-view main card of the September 19 event in Dallas, Texas.

The UFC on Friday announced a previously-reported switch to the UFC 104: Machida vs. Rua lineup, as Josh Neer replaces an injured Sean Sherk and takes on Gleison Tibau in a 155-pound matchup that remains on the event’s pay-per-view main card, which is headlined by a light heavyweight championship bout between title-holder Lyoto Machida and challenger Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

A UFC lightweight championship matchup between title-holder BJ Penn and challenger Diego Sanchez is now slated to take place at UFC 107 on December 12 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Penn and UFC President Dana White announced the new date for the matchup on Thursday on Penn’s official website (see video embedded after the jump).

Former welterweight champion and future hall of famer Matt Hughes recently signed a multi-fight extension with the UFC, but an opponent has not yet been determined for his next fight.

“Nothing is decided yet, so anything you might be reading on the internet right now is just rumors and speculation. However, one name the UFC did bring up is a person I’ve never fought before,” wrote Hughes.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, the twin brother of UFC heavyweight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira who recently finalized a deal with the UFC, will make his debut for the promotion at UFC 105 on November 14 in Manchester, England, according to Fighters Only.

An opponent has not yet been named for the light heavyweight matchup, with Fighters Only reporting that the UFC hopes to have Nogueira fight for the title as soon as possible, indicating a fight against another 205-pound contender is likely for the card.

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is taking some time off from fighting following his knockout of Forrest Griffin at light heavyweight last month at UFC 101 and hopes to see top middleweight contenders Nate Marquardt and Dan Henderson meet soon to determine the top contender at 185-pounds.

Josh Neer will replace an injured Sean Sherk and take on Gleison Tibau in a lightweight matchup at UFC 104 on October 24 in Los Angeles.

According to Sherdog, which reported the replacement on Wednesday, the former lightweight champ Sherk recently suffered a shoulder injury while training that will sideline him for approximately four weeks.

Five-time UFC champion and hall of famer Randy Couture today told Sherdog that he’s likely to return to the 205-pound light heavyweight division for his next fight following back-to-back losses at heavyweight to Brock Lesnar and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and is likely to fight again early next year.

Welterweight veteran Phil Baroni will make his return to the Octagon on November 21 at UFC 106 in Las Vegas against The Ultimate Fighter 7 winner Amir Sadollah, according to a report from Inside Fights citing sources close to both camps.

UFC 106, which airs live on pay-per-view from the Mandalay Bay Events Center, is headlined by a matchup between heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and challenger Shane Carwin, and is also rumored to include Tito Ortiz vs. Mark Coleman and Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida.

In his first fight since winning the lightweight tournament on The Ultimate Fighter 9, Ross Pearson will return to the Octagon to take on Aaron Riley at UFC 105 on November 14 in Manchester, England.

UFC 105 is expected to air on Spike TV and is rumored to include Michael Bisping vs. Denis Kang, Dan Hardy vs. Dong Hyun Kim, and James Wilks vs. Matt Brown.

With UFC President Dana White surprisingly absent from Tuesday’s UFC 104 press conference at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, headliners UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida and challenger Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vowed to put their friendship aside and display unique styles in the October 24 showdown.

Overnight, DirecTV dropped Versus, and along with it World Extreme Cagefighting, from its lineup after the contract between the satellite TV provider and network expired and a new deal was unable to be reached due to a disagreement over the terms of the contract.

The UFC will hold a press conference on Tuesday at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles to promote its October 24 “UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun” event, which takes place at the Staples Center in LA.

Though most of the focus at the press conference will be on UFC 104, White headed to Los Angeles on Monday with hopes of finalizing a deal with an undisclosed network to air a November event headlined by BJ Penn vs. Kenny Florian. If finished, the deal could be announced as early as today.

A trio of bouts are in the works for November’s WEC 44 event, as featherweight contenders Diego Nunes and LC Davis, former lightweight champ Rob McCullough and Anthony Pettis, and 145-pounders Cub Swanson and John Franchi have reportedly agreed to fight on the card, according to MMAjunkie, Sherdog, and MMA Madness respectively.

WEC featherweight champ Mike Brown and challenger Jose Aldo are expected to headline the Versus-televised event, which is rumored to take place on November 11 at a location and venue to-be-determined.
