Middleweight contender Nate Marquadt will take on Chael Sonnen in February at UFC 110 in Austalia, according to Sportsnet.ca, which reports that bout agreements are pending for the matchup. UFC 110, which takes place on February 20 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, also includes Wanderlei Silva vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Ben Rothwell, and Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Soszynski.

Strikeforce announced over the weekend that former middleweight champion Cung Le will return to action on December 19 against Scott Smith at Strikeforce: Evolution at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.

The Showtime-televised event also features Robbie Lawler, Matt Lindland, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, and Muhammed “King Mo”.

A light heavyweight matchup between Krzysztof Soszynski and Stephan Bonnar is in the works for UFC 110 on February 21 in Sydney, Australia and is expected to be finalized soon, according to MMA Weekly.

UFC 110, which has yet to be officially announced, is also expected to feature Wanderlei Silva vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Ben Rothwell.

Top-ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko suffered a broken nose and injured his hand in his second-round knockout of Brett Rogers on Saturday in the main event of Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers, according to Sherdog.

The extent of Fedor’s injury is likely to affect the upcoming matchups for Strikeforce, as Fedor was likely to fight Fabricio Werdum, who also won on last night’s card, or heavyweight champ Alistair Overeem in his next fight, but Werdum and Overeem could instead square off if Emelianenko is sidelined.

Billy Evangelista remained undefeated on Friday in the main event of Strikeforce Challengers 4 in Fresno, California, earning a unanimous decision win over veteran Jorge Gurgel at the Showtime-televised card.

In other main card action, Shane Del Rosario, Luke Rockhold, Merrit Warren, and Thomas Diagne all earned victories.
