Following weeks of searching and speculation, it appears that the UFC has finally secured a main event for UFC 105 in Manchester, England. A light heavyweight matchup between Randy Couture and Brandon Vera is in the process of being booked for the event, according to BloodyElbow.

Negotiations to have middleweight contenders Dan Henderson and Nate Marquardt meet in the headliner have stalled, while a matchup between Matt Hughes and middleweight champ Anderson Silva also fell through for the November 14 event.

Two UFC newcomers will look to get things started in the right direction at UFC 105 on November 15th in Machester, England. Former EliteXC fighter Jared Hamman will look to end the undefeated streak of fellow UFC debutant Alexander Gustafsson on the events preliminary card.

Two fights have been added to the December fifth scheduled The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale in Las Vegas, NV. Those fights include Kurt Pellegrino vs. Frankie Edgar and Dennis Hallman vs. John Howard.

The MFC 22 headlining bout will be match up between two top grapplers, as Jason MacDonald will look to topple Travis Lutter. Also on the card, Antonio McKee will take on Carlo Prater for the MFC lightweight belt, and Luigi Fioravanti will face John Alessio.

Headlining Arena Rumble is a match up between Jason Guida and Jeremy Horn. Other notables in action on the card include Trevor Prangley, Brad Imes, Terry Martin, and Lyle Beerbohm.

After it was reported yesterday that Gegard Mousasi was forced to pull out of his upcoming “Super Hulk Tournament” bout with Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, there was some discussion as to who might fill his place. In a move that will likely surprise almost no one, Dream officials have decided to bring Bob Sapp back into the tournament as Mousasi’s replacement

The lightweight bout between Kenny Florian and Clay Guida that was originally scheduled for UFC 106 in November has been moved to UFC 107 on December 12 in Memphis, TN. This news comes on the heels of the announcement that the BJ Penn vs. Diego Sanchez bout was moved to this event, as well as the postponement of the scheduled Rashad Evans vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson bout to a later event.

The lineup for UFC 106 continues to shape up, with a fifth welterweight bout reportedly added to the card. Marcus “The Irish Hand Grenade” Davis will be taking on Ben “Killa B” Saunders at the November 21 event in Las Vegas, according to a report by MMA Junkie, and both fighters will be looking to rebound after recent losses.

First reported by Dana White at Friday's UFC 101 Q&A session, and officially announced Monday by Spike TV, The Best of Pride Fighting Championships series starts January 11, 2010 at 11pm on Spike. The show will be a weekly one hour series following a similar format to that of the UFC Unleashed, and will be hosted by former Maxim Magazine "Hometown Hotties" finalist Kenda Perez.

The last thing that Strikeforce’s August 15th “Carano vs. Cyborg” card needed was another line up change. It appears that scheduled combatant Nick Diaz has taken some actions that may cause just that, and you guessed it, it’s related to his drug test. Diaz reportedly failed to show for his scheduled pre-fight testing on Wednesday, and his coach, Caesar Gracie, claimed that Diaz missed the appointment because he was “Busy training,”

On Saturday, MMAFrenzy.com reported that Don Fry had pulled out of his M-1 Breakthrough bout, which had been moved from Los Angeles to Kansas. A replacement has been found to face his scheduled opponent, Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal at the event, in another aging legend, Mark Kerr.

Also added to the August 28th card is a special exhibition match between Fedor Emelianenko and Gegard Mousasi.

More light as now been shed on rumors that M-1 Global may have misled Gegard Mousasi in negotiations with the UFC before the light heavyweight signed with Strikeforce as CBS Radio host Carmichael Dave recently spoke to UFC Vice President of Talent Relations Joe Silva on the subject of Mousasi and M-1, and later posted a transcript of that conversation to the Sherdog Forums:

“Gegard called me about a week ago. He asked if it was true that the UFC offered 40/40 (40k to show, 40k bonus to win), Silva said. “I told him no, because we never actually made an offer. Not only did we not make an offer, but we would’ve assumed his Affliction contract and its terms. So whatever Affliction was paying him, that’s what we would’ve honored, and it was considerably more than 40/40.”

Originally rumored to be a participant on the August 15th “Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” fight card, Erin Toughill has instead been tapped as a reserve combatant for the events headlining bout. Should either of the scheduled participants, Gina Carano or Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos, be forced to withdraw, Toughill will take their place.

THQ’s popular video game franchise “UFC Undisputed”, which debuted this year for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, is expected to make it’s Nintendo Wii debut early next year. It may also find it’s way to Nintendo’s handheld consoles, as well
