Strikeforce’s December 19th is beginning to shape up, fighters already rumored for the event include Robbie Lawler, and Scott Smith. Now joining them is a proposed middleweight match up between Matt Lindland and Ronald “Jacare” Souza, and the promotional debut of Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal against an as yet unknown opponent.

Carolina Crown 2 Recap and Results

Carolina Fight Promotions put on a great event at the Carolina Crown 2 in Raleigh, North Carolina Saturday night. The card featured seven amateur bouts and seven professional bouts, including two championship fights, and was headlined by former The Ultimate Fighter contestant Vinny Magalhaes defeating Kris Davis, who was a late replacement for Jason Guida, who pulled out of the fight due to a reported back injury.

Fighters weighed in today for Carolina Fight Promotion’s Carolina Crown 2, to be held tomorrow at the RBC Center in Raleigh, NC. All fighters on the pro card made weight, including headliners Vinny Magalhaes and late replacement Chris Davis.

DREAM recently announced additions and changes to the fight card its October 25 DREAM 12 event, including Kazushi Sakuraba replacing Melvin Manhoef against Zelg Galesic and welterweight champ Marius Zaromskis’ return to action in a non-title bout against Myeon Ho Bae.

K-1/DREAM “Dyanamite!! 2009″ Officially Announced

The officials over at FEG and DREAM officially made an expected announcement today that they will be holding their annual New Years Eve show again this year, at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. K-1 executive Sadaharu Tanikawa said that the event would follow last year’s hybrid format, including both K-1 bouts and Dream MMA bouts, to fill out an eighteen fight card.

Former High School Wrestler Sues School District For Damages From MMA Fight At School

MMA is in the news again for the wrong reasons. This time a high school wrestler who willingly participated in an MMA style fight in the wrestling room at the school, at the time of a canceled wrestling practice, is suing the school and the school district for financial damages relating to the medical costs of injuries sustained during the bout.

Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou has now been named as Gegard Mousasi’s opponent for his previously reported non-title fight at November 7th’s “Strikeforce: Emelianenko vs. Rogers” event.
