Rashad Evans, Forrest Griffin, and Quinton Jackson each earned $60,000 “fight night” bonuses for their performances last night at UFC 92. Evans and Griffins won “Fight of the Night” honors for their exciting, standup-dominated headliner while Jackson was awarded “Knockout of the Night” for his first-round knockout of Wanderlei Silva. No “Submission of the Night” bonus was awarded as the ten-bout card failed to have a single bout finished via submission.

Forrest Griffin suffered a broken hand during his main event loss to Rashad Evans and went to a hospital after the fight for treatment. Details on the injury aren’t yet known,including when the injury was suffered, the severity of the injury, and how long Griffin will have to be off before resuming training and ultimately returning to the octagon.

Interim UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira put his title on the line in the evening’s co-main event against former champion Frank Mir and light heavyweights Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei Silva squared off for the third time in UFC 92’s other featured matchups.

All twenty fighters slated to compete tomorrow night at UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008 successfully weighed-in for their bouts today at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, which will host tomorrow’s pay-per-view event.

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin tipped the scales at 205 pounds for the UFC 92 headliner, while challenger Rashad Evans weighed-in at 203 pounds.

Challenger Frank Mir will hold a slight weight advantage in the UFC 92 co-main event, weighing in at 251 pounds compared to UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s 246 pounds.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei Silva weighed in at 206 pounds and 203 pounds respectively for their highly anticipated light heavyweight rematch.

UFC, WEC, and EliteXC veteran Justin Eilers died early this morning as the result of a single gun shot wound to the chest suffered during a domestic dispute at the home of an acquaintance in Canyon County, Idaho.

According to reports, Eilers had gathered at the house with relatives and friends to celebrate Christmas but an argument reportedly arose between Eilers and his ex-girlfriend, who was also present at the residence. The dispute then escalated, culminating with James Robert Malec, believed to be the girlfriend of Eilers’ mother, shooting Eilers once in the chest with several family members witnessing the shooting.

Eilers holds a 19-7-1 record as a professional fighter, including a 1-3 mark in the UFC. Following an 8-2-1 start to his career, Eilers debuted in the octagon, stopping Mike Kyle via first-round knockout. Despite losing to Paul Buentello at UFC 51, Eilers challenged Andrei Arlovski for the heavyweight title, losing in the first-round due to a knee injury. A third-consecutive loss suffered to Brandon Vera marked Eilers’ last appearance in the UFC but after winning 10 of his next 11 bouts Eilers challenged Antonio Silva for the first-ever EliteXC heavyweight championship, losing via second-round TKO.
