I just think that he had slightly edged him the first 2/3 of the fight . The knockdown was obviously the sway for the judges …….. thats the way it goes though . Am looking forward to his Strikeforce defense .

Doom I often don’t disagree with you, but under K~1 rules did he win that match against Remy? K~1 rules aren’t anything like MMA soo I personally believe under those rules (which the match was under) Remy won, it is what it is yet the “knockdown” wasn’t enough to stop the bout imo, but under K~1 hey didn’t look too good………

Werdum was 2-2 in the UFC just like Chrisl pointed out. He thought he was the #1 contender when he was sooo not. And he did want too much money that he did not deserve and he puts his head down making himself look like he’s lost and doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing and gets ko’d by UFC newcomer Junior Dos Santos. Werdum is not a top Heavyweight IMO, but he doesn’t completely suck though.

Overeem has been on a roll for sure . Even with that lame loss in the k1 fight ,which to me looked like he won , He will be too much for werdum to handle since he has put on alot of poundage . Give rogers a few more fights and he will be a good overeem matchup . Maybe with the new air time strikeforce can have a TUF style show exclusively for heavyweight talent . Hell , pay roger gracie to get in there for a bit . When’s the last time there was an MMA heavyweight GP? Lots of ways to attract talent .

the main thing w/ the UFC was the contract, UFC tried to restructure because he was 2-2 in the UFC and even his TKO win against Vera was considered a bad stoppage. He still wanted main event money w/o ever providing a true signature win and losing to a guy he was supposed to beat was the final straw.

With Afflicton it appears it was a money issue because they do not have much to sign fighters long-term right now.

His main problem is that he isn’t a very exciting fighter if you are new to the sport and he demands large pay days with out ever really being a highlight reel/ main event guy. That’s just my opinion though.

Just out of curiousity…. Whats the big knock on Werdum?? I understand he looked AWEFUL against Dos Santos, but going into that fight he was a top contender, and the UFC was putting a lot of hype into him. So I know there has to be more to the story then he just lost and therefor it lead to him being cut and not only that but Affliction didnt want him either… Does anyone know if there was more to the story?
