The UFC has "sold out", now there are people that purchased 10+ tickets with no plans of using any of them that are trying to sell them for 1000% mark up. They are the ones that we are talking about causing the empty seats. It is not the UFCs fault that these people do this. It’s not that the UFC has the seats over priced. The only live fight I've been to was 87 and I had no problem forking out the $600 bucks for the front row tickets. I'm shocked to hear that the tickets for 97 are still up in arms like you guys are saying I thought there were not going to seats for miles ha-ha but like it was mentioned people wont pay $1000 bucks for a $150 seat I wouldn't. At the Target Center where 87 was at I didn't see a single seat open and hope the UFC is seeing these EMPTY seats and make them a reasonable price. I don't think they existed at all. I was lucky and got my $300 ones about 20 minutes into the presale. Second, the exact same seats in Columbus that went for $150 are $1000 for UFC 100. And lastly, figs and Justin bring up great points. You look at craigslist or kijiji and people are giving away their UFC 97 tickets; scalpers must have seen a potential sell out and jumped on it without realizing most Canadian mma fans won't spend $1000 to see Silva beat up some schmuck. And at 91 and 96 (the only UFCs i've been to live) there were a lot of empty seats. At 91 we snuck down to and stayed in $750 seats from the nosebleeds and at 96 about 50% of the seats in our section (which ticketmaster claims was sold out) were empty; and that was the fighter entrance section where you're guaranteed to be on tv. What I've seen a few times is people buy them, then people buy them at overinflated prices online, then you actually end up with empty seats at the venue because the people that actually want to go but don't want to pay $2,000 for $200 tickets don't get tickets.
