  • Justin says:

I’m picking Almeida by submission, and finally ridding the UFC of Kendall Grove (I hope).

    • fr702 says:

O I think this is a clear sign of the UFC saying Kendall give us what you got or GTFO, going up against BigDog isn’t a nice situation to be put in, best of luck Da Spyda

    • tjack says:

Justin r u not to big of a grove fan?

      • Justin says:

Nope. Worst TUF winner (besides Lutter from season 4) then he still does the elaborate Tito Ortiz bury they guy celebration, even though he’s fighting for his job. And he’s a guy with ink around his belly button…

      • tjack says:

Haha two very good points (tito burial and the ink) but I think his only weak spot is his chin.

      • tjack says:

He does have good subs and decent stand up… I’m lookin forward to the fight but I’m definatly pullin for almeida in this 1

  • chrisl says:

his contract is still guaranteed I do believe…

    • Justin says:

No, it’s not. I think he is out of the TUF contract now, and I think that the UFC reserves the right to cut fighters after X number of fights into a contract. For example, the four fight contracts that guys like Denis Stojnic, Stefan Struve, and Brian Cobb signed before stepping in on short notice for their UFC debut allows the UFC to cut them after two fights if they do not get a win.

      • chrisl says:

the TUF contract will be over in October(3 years starts on the first fight after winning) so if he loses then yeah they probably won’t renew but if he isn’t hurt he’ll try to sneak another in.

  • bigchris2328 says:

I hope almedia snaps grove’s arm. grove has long arms and they can snap just like timmy’s arm was snapped by mir. I dislike grove for the reason mentioned by justin.

  • raffy says:

Grove is annoying and I hope he loses. But, I don’t think he is the worst tuf winner. So far Danzig is.

    • Justin says:

Eh, its a bit of a toss up right now, but I think Kendall wins it because he is a slightly bigger jerk than Danzig, IMO.

      • raffy says:

I can agree with that. I actually really like Danzig. He seems like a pretty laid back intelligent guy. Him and Keith Jardine should start hanging out together. They could read books at local albuquerque coffe shops together. He just hasn’t lived up to the tuf hype.

      • tjack says:

Well he seems cool just as long as u don’t touch his bird feeder haha just messin.

  • marvelknight4 says:

Almeida has a good jj game,if he wins it will for sure be by submission. I don’t see him getting a ko or tko, Grove has the reach to keep him away and has overall better striking than Almeida.

I know a lot of people would like to see Grove out of the UFC, IMO i don’t really care,i honestly think he isn’t that bad of a fighter. He talks a lot of $hit and is very annoying, but he has improved a bit. Anyway i’d like to see Almeida put him away early. I think Almeida has more promise of becoming a contender in the future than Grove. But it won’t be a suprise to me if Grove can get a win.

If Almeida can get the takedown i’m sure he’ll eventually get a sub. If he can’t, i’m pickking Grove by tko or decision.

  • Turk says:

I don’t understand all the “Beef” with Grove. I mean the belly tat is gay as hell no doubt but i mean come on he is not the worst fighter out there.

    Almeida 2nd rd RNC

    • chrisl says:

kinda with you there Turk, I think he’s a decent fighter but I think a big part of it is just the fact that he has the Tito attitude w/o the Tito skills…

    • Justin says:

I don’t like the attitude, I don’t like the celebration, and he’s not that good. No he’s not the worst fighter out there, and no one said he was. I only said he was the worst TUF winner, besides Lutter.

      • marvelknight4 says:

        Turk,
Grove is not the worst fighter out there, but he celebrates and acts like he is the best fighter out there. He talks a lot of $hit that he never backs up and the guy is just annoying as hell. He’s not the worst fighter, but just because he won TUF doesn’t mean he’s as good as he thinks he is and he’s soo not cool enough to celebrate the way he does.

  • CT says:

I have no problem with the dude…. ya i think the tito celebration is lame.. come up with something original… I dont think he is the worst fighter out there… he jus needs to keep his mouth shut and tuck that chin..

  • Starr says:

This one will be close, I think. Being from Maui, Kendall is one of my favorite fighters. Yes, he has a weak chin and is KO-prone to the max… But, if he can dodge getting hit, which with Almeida, I think he has a good chance of that, I think he has a very good chance of winning.
I’ve interviewed Kendall many times and have gotten to know him personally. The kid’s got amazing heart and has grown up a lot and is not full of himself at all. If you read his current interviews, he’s always giving props to his opponents.
He trains unbelievably hard. Don’t know why there’s a stigma of Hawaii fighters being lazy. I know first hand that Grove is busting his ass training for this fight while training a camp of fighters under him at the same time.
He and his partner at I & I Training, Rude Boy Troy Mandaloniz, are dedicated to the sport of mma in a major way.
It bums me out to see people hating on him that don’t know him, or who he’s developed into since his TUF win.
Totally different guy, totally different fighter.
I respect him a lot and really hope that he wins. But win or lose, he really just wants to put on a good, exciting fight for the fans.
