Ryan Baders Suffers Torn MCL and PCL

Ultimate Fighter 8 light heavyweight winner Ryan Bader today confirmed on Twitter that he suffered a completely torn MCL and a torn PCL in his UFC Fight Night 18 victory over Carmelo Marrero on April 1st.
According to the post, a doctor confirmed the injuries, but a timetable for his return to the octagon was not disclosed.

Ouch. I think that MCL and PCL get better faster than ACL, but I’m not sure. He could be out for a while.
actually… just so ya know… if this were the NFL Bader would be hanging it up w/ the torn PCL. The MCL typically heals on its own. The PCL is a problem, guys in MMA can typically bounce back from it but it takes longer to heal. It runs behind the ACL so stability is really compromised when it is torn. Hopefully Bader gets with a good surgeon and we’ll see him back ASAP.
OUCH. He will be out a while to rehab this injury, about 18 months.
