Sources close to the bout are reporting that Brock Larson, who recently made the move from the WEC to the UFC, will be stepping in to face Chris Wilson at UFC 98, on May 23rd. Wilson was originally slated to face Josh Koshcheck at the event, before Koscheck was forced to withdraw last week due to a foot injury.

Fight agreements have not been made official yet, but both fighters have verbally agreed to the contest.

Larson, who successfully made his UFC return at UFN 18 against Jesse Sanders, has won twenty-five fights in his career, and suffered his only two losses to top competitors Jon Fitch and Carlos Condit.

Wilson now has a record of fourteen wins and five losses (1-2 in the UFC) after dropping his last fight via split decision to John Howard at UFC 94, in the “Fight of the Night”.

I think that Larson is attempting to get on the good side of Joe Silva as well as bypass fighting Condit again, I by no means am distrespecting Larson but we all know that if you fight on short notice Joe Silva enjoys that… Not exactly sucking up or whatever, he is trying to do a good job for his employers, good to see him step up.

Yeah i agree, i’m a big fan of Larson and i don’t want to see him fight Condit again. This is a smart move for him,if he wins he’ll possibly get a high profile fight nexr, maybe they can match him up with Kos when he comes back.

IF Larson wins have him face Kos, well that’s not too shabby, but perhaps too soon? I also wouldn’t mind seeing Kos v Kampmann I think that would be pretty sick..

Kos vs Kampmann would be a sick fight. I think that Larson is ready for some more challenging fights, i know he hasn’t fought real elite guys, but he has a lot of experience and i think if he had the chance to fight a guy like Kos or Kampmann he’d do well. He’d also make an interesting fight with Marcus Davis IMO

Kos vs Kampmann @ UFC 100 would be sweet. UFC 100 still needs 2 more fights.

I think that if chuck wins we will see him vs Cane or Rampage I hope

Actually guys if you check out his record, Brock has had a few good fights against fairly solid dudes . Sure there are the usual up and comer wins as to be expected who doesnt ??? He has the build and the experience to go farther than condit in the UFC IMO.
