Leben To Return Against Rosholt at UFC 102

Middleweight Chris Leben will return to action for the first time since testing positive for steroids last October when he takes on Jake Rosholt at UFC 102 on August 29th in Portland, Oregon.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout on Monday, confirming that the fighters had agreed to the matchup and are in the process of finalizing the fight.
After suffering a unanimous decision loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 89, Leben (18-5) tested positive for the banned steroid Stanozolol and was suspended by the UFC for nine months. He had previously won back-to-back fights over Alessio Sakara and Terry Martin.
Rosholt (5-1), a former collegiate wrestler and previously undefeated prospect, joined the UFC in February following his successful debut in the WEC over Nissen Osterneck, but suffered a first-round submission loss to Dan Miller in his debut.

I root for Leben I really do, but goodness why did you have to be an idot and use steroids to face Bisping, that I won’t understand.. Should be a good fight and I hope that Leben can get his shhhh together, Jake is no pushover and this will be a test for the both of them..

No, suspension length depends on where the infraction occurs. In California it usually ends up being one year, in Nevada though it seems like they normally do 9 months. This fight took place in the UK where there is no athletic commission to dole out the penalty, so it is up to the UFC to determine the appropriate penalty. It would appear that they chose to use the Nevada standard.

Is it because you think that Leben is some sort of pushover? I mean he isn’t the best MW in the world or anything, but he is a tough fighter with ko power and solid chin (except ofcourse when he tought he was going to send Anderson Silva back to Japan), I think that this fight is anything but a gimme for either fighter… And ya I would assume that he will be “off da juice” for this fight..

seriously that’s my point hence the “…” Rosholt isn’t exactly going the way of other guys who get into the UFC and fight a few lower guys to build their rep. Leben even off the roids is dangerous and dan miller is a fast riser so it’ll be interesting.

Leben has good power and a great chin, but if you take roids and still can’t beat bisping??? c’mon dude!
Stanozolol is a cutter, so I think leben had trouble making weight for the bisping fight. hopefully with 9 months off, he wont have that same problem. leben isnt a top mw, but is a good quality opponent. that being said I think this fight will end with a 2nd round ko by rosholt
Leben, Leben, LEBEN!!!! He’s always been one of my favorite fighters and i was a little butt hurt when he got busted but at least he wasn’t taking HGH or painkillers like James Irvin and Parysian(leben has alcohol for pain haha). Hopefully he can come back clean and in 100% to put the stamp on Rosholt(who had an awful showing in his debut) So go LEBEN
Leben quit drinking, or at least that was part of his story on the countdown show leading up to fighting Bisping.
He also said he was clean too, and he got busted for that too, but i’m praying hes telling the truth because he could definitely be a top five guys if he got his act together
