UFC 168 kicked off with a two-fight online offering tonight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The two fights would see William Macario and Robbie Peralta end their 2013 campaign’s with victories tonight at UFC 168.
Macario Dominates Voelker
TUF Brazil 2 veteran William Macario got his first official UFC bout with a unanimous decision over Bobby Voelker tonight in Vegas. The former finalist showed improved cardio in a dominant win tonight at UFC 168. If there was one knock on the Brazilian’s performance, it was that he did not get a finish over the Strikeforce veteran. Voelker is likely on his way out of the Octagon after losing all three of his UFC appearances, while Macario now sits at 1-1.
Payan Drops Devastating Loss to Peralta
There is little more disappointing than losing a fight when you are up but that feeling is what Estevan Payan is feeling after being crushed by Robbie Peralta. Payan appeared to win the first two rounds as he put together two solid all-round efforts in rounds one and two. Peralta listened to his corner however, and rallied in the third round with a quick knockout of his opponent. Payan drops to 0-2 in the UFC with the loss, while Peralta has now won three of his five UFC fights (with one NC).
- William Macario def. Bobby Voelker via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
