Danillo Villefort vs. Jesse Lennox Added to UFC 101
A welterweight matchup between former WEC fighters Danillo Villefort and Jesse Lennox has been added to the preliminary card for UFC 101, which is expected to take place on August 8th at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.
MMAFrenzy.com confirmed with sources early Friday that the rumored bout was in the works for the UFC’s Pennsylvania debut.
Both Villefort and Lennox make the jump to the UFC’s 170-pound division after the WEC slashed the welterweight class earlier this year.
Villefort (9-2), who trains out of American Top Team, successfully made his WEC debut at WEC 38 in January, defeating Mike Campbell via first-round TKO.
Lennox (10-2) earned a second-round knockout of Blas Avena at WEC 38 in his WEC debut.
