UFC 2009: Undisputed Cover
The full roster for UFC 2009 was revealed by THQ during a recent visit to Gamespot. Some characters will be available at two weight classes, notably missing from that list as of right now are Diego Sanchez, and Mark Coleman. Also notable is the absence of Randy Couture and Shane Carwin from the game, and the presence of Tim Sylvia, Andrei Arlovski, and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filopovic.
KEY:
LHW – Can also be used at Light Heavyweight.
MW – Can also be used at Middleweight.
WW – Can also be used at Welterweight.
LW – Can also be used at Lightweight.

Huerta, if you’ll read my comment below you will see that Randy had signed an exclusive contract with a different video game while he was in contract dispute with the UFC, and therefore cannot be in this game.
I would download Efrain Escudero but that’s because he’s from Yuma which isn’t too far from my hometown and he went to the same CC my cousin did. Plus I think he is gonna develop into a really legit fighter (if he stays healthy), and by that time the game will be out and people will wish he was on the game, so they can download him.

Everything I posted is what was officially announced by THQ in their interview with Gamespot, which as far as I know is all the information that is out there.
i checked the gamespot website and for gouveia it says “Wilson Gouveia (MW)”

If you look at the picture of what the cover of the game will look like, you will notice in the upper right corner the words “XBOX LIVE”, which I assume is an indication that you will be able to play the game on XBOX LIVE.

are some of the ones i saw, but you do have to realize when they started making this game. hopefully they will offer more downloadable content with some more names.

Randy just said in a radio appearance I’m listening to that he had already signed video game rights with a different game while he was having his contract problems with the UFC last year.

I cant wait to get this and beat Tim Sylvia repeatedly with Bruce Buffer (if he’s unlockable).
the roster is good cant wait to destroy bj with gsp and see if he pulls a greasegate in the game. hopefully the game is smooth, and doesnt have an arm or a leg go through a guy’s body when you are using a sub. Its cool that arianny and edith are in the game. cant wiat for the game.
I can’t wait to use Houston Alexander and beat the crap out of Jardine, also

your idea is awesome, using GSP to destroy Pann is hilarious, i’m for sure going to do that. I can’t wait to see how detailed each fighter is, from their entrance mannerisms to their fightitng stance. I wonder how ref stoppages are going to work? In the earlier UFC games you either got completely ko’d or you tapped, i don’t recall ref stoppages in those games, i might be wrong though.
One guy i’m not going to use for sure is Shogun because i don’t want to gas out in the first minute of the game. I’m going to use Matt Hughes(who has zero standup) to ko Arlovski’s weak chin, of course if the game allows you to fight with guys in other weight classes. I hope they have Hughes’s trademark fighting stance, it’s so damn funny. He looks like a guy who thinks he’s a striker, but of course is not. Lol
Ok, well I’m looking forward to this game I’m not the hugest gamer in the land but I do own the UFC game as well as the PRIDE game, soo seeing how I’m a MMA~aholic there is no doubt that I will purchase this one…
I too am interested to see the ref stoppages, can I ask for the Maz not to ref my bouts? I wonder if this game will have the “championship road” type thing… And on the UFC I got everyone a belt even Erica Montoya hells ya…
Who is going to be “unlockable”? How is building a character going to work? Do they have “local shows” type thing so you have to work your way up to the UFC… I hope this game is sick, can’t wait..
I’m going to make Liddell actually block some punches and then KO Rampage twice, Evans twice and Jardine twice…….just to make my world re-allign itself, LOL.
Yeah i agrre, i hope they have a good story mode where you keep building your skills in standup jj wrestling, all aspects of MMA. I’m mostly interested in the details of the game, are we goning to be able to pick up and slam a guy if he has us in a triangle, or can we get “rocked” and still be able to come back to win a fight? I just can’t wait to play this game.

I hope they have a tournament mode where you can fight any guys from any weight class, but i doubt they’ll have that

if they do tournament (which they i hope they do) i would rather 8 man or 16 if they have enough in wieght class. all in same wieght class. that would be cool.

so like in create mode you have to train them like what do you have them like keep boxing a punching bag until they’re good and send them to camps and they go up level in striking or what?
who knows, ijust hope they don’t exagerate the amount of training you have to go through like in the first UFC game.

i don’t think hughes has the power to ko someone. He’s been in situations where he could have ko’d someone but he didn’t. Maybe someone could help josh burkman fulfill what he said was his “destiny”, and play with him to become world champion LOL
i wonder if you play as kendall grove and win if he’ll do that ultra douchebag move where he acts like he just killed you and put you in the ground. it’s always nice to see someone act so cocky even though they’re barely makin the televised fights and one loss away from getting cut… prick. all in all it looks like a good lineup xept i don’t see the carpentar.

just so everyone knows the reason randy isnt in it is because he has an exclusive contract with EA games for red alert 3…sad but true he cant be in any games unless its made by EA
Do you have any idea how long the contract lasts? If it’s only for 1 year, then the UFC will be able to put him in as a downloadable character. Either that or the UFC should just pay EA and release Randy from the contract.
